The bell rings for round one and we are underway! An inside leg kick lands from Kemppainen. A swing and a miss from Adams. Nice defenses there by Kemppainen. Adams takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Kemppainen misses with a body shot.
Adams looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Adams on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Adams cracks Kemppainen with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Kemppainen moves away from the strike by Adams. Kemppainen looks to land a left hand but Adams moved out of range nicely. Kemppainen throws a leg kick which misses Adams's front leg but catches the back leg as Adams tries to avoid it. Araujo shoots in for a takedown but Burton shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Burton lands a body shot.
Araujo takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Burton gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Burton is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Tokoro has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Tokoro fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hoover, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. That was a close second round but I would say that Nakagome Kakuzo will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. I think Deiveiredo might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Mission Impossible - Adam Clayton. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Saragih throws a leg kick and Deiveiredo counters with a good low kick that Saragih was not able to check. A big right from Deiveiredo misses. Saragih buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Deiveiredo feints a jab promting Saragih to slip. Deiveiredo then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Saragih slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. It looks like Jack Saragih has been cut. Saragih listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. A nice leg kick lands there from Saragih. Saragih lands a nice leg kick that just misses Deiveiredo's sensitive parts. Deiveiredo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Saragih manages to avoid it. Saragih misses with a body shot.

Saragih has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Deiveiredo throws a nice head kick!

He tries to recover but Deiveiredo pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Saragih is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

After winning the bout, Figueson Deiveiredo thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.

Traumen is staying active underneath Hopson, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Hopson sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Traumen defending well though. Traumen has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Hopson is on him like a limpet, forcing Traumen back against the cage. Hopson doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Traumen blocks a body shot from Hopson. Hopson lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Hopson misses with a body punch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A head punch blocked on the inside by Traumen. Traumen's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. A punch combination from Traumen misses. Hopson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Traumen throws a hook but Hopson avoids it easily. Traumen moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Traumen throws a nice looking combination but Hopson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Traumen misses the shot to the body. Traumen throws a good cross that connects.
Traumen throws a body kick that misses. And Hopson tries to counter it with a takedown but Traumen pushes his down on his head and steps out. Traumen looks to land a left hand but Hopson moved out of range nicely. Hopson moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Traumen throws a hook but Hopson avoids it easily. Hopson tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hopson avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Traumen misses with a right hand and Hopson counters with a single leg into guard. Traumen didn't expect that. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hopson passes Traumen's left leg - he's now in half guard. Traumen is trying to stand up here but Hopson is controlling him well. Hopson is thwarting Traumen's attempts to control the position. Traumen kicks off Hopson and gets to his feet. Traumen scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Traumen throws a right hand that misses

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lucas Traumen. I think Traumen has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Lucas Traumen decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
