The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mauricio closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Mauricio has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Herny is trying to keep an underhook but Mauricio manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Herny tries to kick Mauricio off in order to stand up. Mauricio Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Check out the look on Mauricio's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Herny is letting Mauricio control him for a moment.
Mauricio creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Mauricio is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Herny is trying to escape and Mauricio transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Herny is forced to tap! Nice work there by Mauricio! Very nice indeed!

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Colin Nox (ranked 1998 p4p, 3577 weight class) and Grover Pittman (ranked 192 p4p, 310 weight class). Nox's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Mobb Deep - Shook Ones. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.
