Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Holmes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Teddy Dalrymple! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Dalrymple drops Holmes with a beautiful combination! Holmes stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Dalrymple is looking for the KO! It looks like Michael Holmes has been cut. Dalrymple throws a body punch but Holmes moves out of range. Holmes appears to be looking for a big counter. Dalrymple swinging wildly here.
It looked like Holmes was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Dalrymple throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Holmes. Teddy Dalrymple seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Holmes seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Dalrymple throws a lazy body kick and Holmes counters with a straight right hand. It looks like Teddy Dalrymple has been cut. Holmes avoids a punch combination nicely.

Holmes appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Holmes moves away from the strike by Dalrymple. Dalrymple misses with a body kick. Holmes appears to be looking for a big counter. Dalrymple tries to bum rush Holmes with a series of wild strikes but Holmes uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Holmes ducks right into an uppercut from Dalrymple.

Dalrymple throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Holmes wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

and Holmes cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Dalrymple lands a left and a right that send Holmes crashing to the mat, dazed. Dalrymple thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Holmes might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far. Dalrymple misses with a right hand and Holmes counters with a crisp one two that drops Dalrymple! Holmes thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Dalrymple to his feet! Dalrymple is in big trouble! Dalrymple is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dalrymple is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Holmes is rocked! Dalrymple tries to clinch and Dalrymple takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Dalrymple is still on wobbly legs! Can Holmes finish him? Dalrymple tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Holmes was well out of range. Poor timing from Dalrymple. As Dalrymple looks to move away, Holmes throws a big counter combo but Dalrymple just gets out of the way. Dalrymple seems to have recovered his senses.

Dalrymple throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Holmes looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Some bone on bone action there as Holmes checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Teddy Dalrymple seems to be getting the better of the standup. Dalrymple thows a left - swing and a miss! Holmes seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Holmes ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. No joy there for Dalrymple, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Dalrymple cracks Holmes with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Dalrymple has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Holmes to stand back up! Oh Holmes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dalrymple throws a jab but it's blocked by Holmes. Holmes seems to have got his legs back now.

He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Dalrymple to score with a decent uppercut. Dalrymple throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Dalrymple throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Holmes counters with a crisp right hand that drops Dalrymple! Holmes lets Dalrymple back up to his feet, looking for a finish! Dalrymple throws a poor cross that misses
and Holmes holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Holmes lands a body shot. Dalrymple takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Holmes drags the fight down to the ground.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Holmes is on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Holmes throws a big right hand that misses. Dalrymple working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Holmes. Dalrymple is trying to keep Holmes in close.
Dalrymple seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Holmes tries to free his leg and advance position but Dalrymple is retaining full guard. Teddy Dalrymple is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Holmes throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
