Edson Barboozer had a terrible time trying to make weight. After initially coming in at 158.0, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. Stepping on the scales for a second time, he still failed to make the required weight and after much deliberation, his fight with Melvin Tate was cancelled. |

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Trage Tragedy (ranked 20910 p4p, 3474 weight class) and Fiya Patron (ranked 530 p4p, 381 weight class). Tragedy comes to the cage accompanied by Bury Me In Southern Ground by Rebel Son. Fiya Patron told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

With a record of 31 - 30 - 0, fighting out of New York, Trage Tragedy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Fiya Patron! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Dmitry Maklakov and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tragedy misses with the combination.
Tragedy misses with a looping left. Tragedy throws the left hand but Patron avoids the punch easily. Patron connects with a leg kick. Tragedy pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Tragedy throws a hook but Patron avoids it easily. Patron thuds his shin into the meat of Tragedy's side. Patron throws a good cross that connects.

It looks like Trage Tragedy has been cut. Patron fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Tragedy throws a series of punches but Patron moves out of range. Patron lands a high kick!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Patron sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Patron has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Tragedy misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Trage Tragedy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Patron scores with a crisp jab that stopped Tragedy in his tracks. Patron avoids a punch combination nicely.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Herrera uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from King. Herrera throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. King tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Herrera is in King's guard. Herrera trying to control but King is working from the bottom. Herrera controlling from the top position. Herrera drops back looking for a leg! King is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and King manages to kick Herrera off! Herrera jumps back into King's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Herrera decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on King, up you get!

Herrera has been working on his balance at MMA Training and Sparring Buddies, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by King. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for King. King lands with a short shot to the head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A head punch blocked on the inside by Herrera. King misses with a short punch on the inside. A head punch on the inside from King fails to land. Still in the clinch, King scores with a nice short uppercut. King goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
King tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Herrera's elbow. Herrera drops down looking for an ankle pick but King pulls his leg out and moves away.
Herrera is looking to land body kicks. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Herrera is defended easily by King. King throws out a counter right but Herrera avoids it with no problem. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round! Herrera fails with the takedown. As Herrera backs off King throws a huge counter combo but Herrera manages to avoid it all. Herrera rushes King and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for King. King misses with a shot to the kidneys.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ghiotto looks to land a right hand but Bottles moved out of range. Bottles gets a clinch. Bottles trying to land knees to the body.

Ghiotto blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Bottles using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Ghiotto has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Bottles just misses with a elbow thrown towards Ghiotto's brow. Bottles takes a shot to the head. Bottles tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Bottles tries to stall but Ghiotto uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cejka closes the distance and clinches. Anjo tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Cejka smiles and moves away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Orel drops his hands momentarily and Tenryu takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Tenryu pivots, looking for a leg kick but Orel is out of range and Tenryu settles back down. Tenryu throws a half hearted mid kick.

Tenryu drops Orel with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Orel looks back up at him and smiles so Tenryu waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Orel is still on wobbly legs! Can Tenryu finish him? Tenryu throws a pinpoint strike between Orel's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Orel crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Tenryu scores a great knockout victory!

Luckily it didn't land flush. Zurauskas tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Barrels paws at him with a jab and circles away. Zurauskas cracks Barrels with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Barrels tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Zurauskas pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Barrels is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
