Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Laddy Sutherland (ranked 3628 p4p, 3530 weight class) and Pekka Haalvisto (ranked 234 p4p, 229 weight class). Haalvisto has chosen Fintelligens - Stockholm-Helsinki as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Laddy Sutherland! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pekka Haalvisto! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haalvisto forces Sutherland back against the cage and clinches. Haalvisto misses with a short punch on the inside. Sutherland tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Haalvisto's elbow. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Haalvisto. Haalvisto throws a punch but it's blocked by Sutherland. Nice body punch from Sutherland - that landed with a thud.

That was a close round but I would say that Laddy Sutherland will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

It looked like Sutherland was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Haalvisto. Sutherland lands with a thumping leg kick.

Laddy Sutherland decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way. Pekka Haalvisto spoke after the fight, saying 'f$$$$$$ck!!!!!'.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Headingery on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Nichols misses with a body shot.
Headingery takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Headingery staying out of range there. Headingery closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Headingery is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Nice takedown defense from Nichols. No joy for Headingery on that attempt. Nichols walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Headingery checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Nichols throws a good cross that connects.

We've been told by Headingery's head coaches at Gumburcules Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Nichols throws a shot from downtown. Headingery moves away and avoids it. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nichols throws a right hand that Headingery ducks under and follows up with a left that Headingery also avoids with ease. Headingery is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sami Juntunen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Billy Goat Jones! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Percy O'Donnell.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Juntunen. Jones's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Juntunen connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Jones scrambles back to his feet. Jones does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Juntunen throws a hook to the side of Jones's head but Jones sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Jones throws a head kick but Juntunen moves out of range.
Jones bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Jones attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Juntunen moves out of range of the body kick. Jones avoids the body shot from Juntunen.

Jones seems to have recovered his senses.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Brandon Byrum. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Byrum, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.  The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sloppy strikes from Eklund. Those never looked like landing. Eklund moves out of range as Darwin throws a body kick.
A decent looking cross lands there for Eklund. Darwin walks into a straight right hand from Eklund. Eklund throws a leg kick that misses. We've been hearing reports that Darwin has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lars Elofsson! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alex Pereira! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Percy O'Donnell.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pereira tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Elofsson was well out of range. Poor timing from Pereira. Elofsson just misses with a punch to the body.
Pereira is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Elofsson.
It looks like Alex Pereira has been cut. Lars Elofsson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pereira throws a hook to the side of Elofsson's head but Elofsson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Elofsson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Elofsson keeps the fight on the outside. Elofsson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Pereira is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Elofsson throws a series of punches but Pereira avoids them all with ease. Elofsson feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Pereiras jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Elofsson lands an overhand right. Pereira throws a body shot but no joy. Pereira misses with a wild body shot. Pereira ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. It seemed like Pereira was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. A decent looking cross lands there for Elofsson.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Elofsson is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Pereira like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Pereira from another fist facial!

Sarinnen closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Fish is trying to control Sarinnen's posture but Sarinnen avoids it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fish is looking for a sweep.
Sarinnen is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Fish knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Fish is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Sarinnen looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. You can see the frustration on Fish's face as Sarinnen controls the position. Sarinnen is looking to take a break and control but Fish is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Sarinnen tries for a kimura but Fish is defending well. Fish is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Sarinnen's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Sarinnen performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Fish is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sarinnen pulls his head out easily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Sarinnen content to control rather than advance. Fish wants to improve his position but Sarinnen is controlling well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Fish is pressing down on Sarinnen's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Fish keeping moving, preventing Sarinnen from controlling successfully. Fish keeping full guard, as Sarinnen tries to pass. Sarinnen is working hard here to advance position.

Fish is looking to cinch up a triangle. Sarinnen throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Fish's body to avoid the submission. Fish has instead reached around Sarinnen's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Fish arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
