Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Dimitrov (ranked 1329 p4p, 1048 weight class) and Joao Cajo Branca (ranked 153 p4p, 121 weight class). Dimitrov comes into the arena with Drake - Energy blaring out of the sound system. Branca has chosen original score medley as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Daniel Dimitrov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joao Cajo Branca!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A lazy body kick from Branca
and Dimitrov counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
A lazy left from Branca finds it's target.
It looks like Daniel Dimitrov has been cut.
Branca closes the distance looking to clinch
and Dimitrov counters with a thumping low kick.
Branca is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Dimitrov.
Dimitrov jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Branca tries a head kick but it misses.

and Branca connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

It looked like Dimitrov was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Branca.
Dimitrov takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Branca swings for the body but Dimitrov moves out of range.
Dimitrov was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Dimitrov lands with a shot to the body.
Branca dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Dimitrov. That did some damage!

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Branca! But no joy.
Dimitrov moves away from the strike by Branca.
Dimitrov takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Branca looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Branca throws a sloppy head kick
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Branca blocks a head kick by Dimitrov.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dimitrov connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Branca swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Dimitrov.
Daniel Dimitrov's cut is getting worse.
A telegraphed right hand from Branca misses the target.
Branca tries to score with a low kick but Dimitrov moves his leg out of the way.
Branca throws a body shot but no joy.
Dimitrov is looking to counter punch.
A jab from Dimitrov misses.

Branca pivots, looking for a leg kick but Dimitrov is out of range and Branca settles back down.
Dimitrov was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Dimitrov walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Nice straight punches there by Dimitrov. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Dimitrov.
Branca will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Dimitrov ducks right into an uppercut from Branca.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Joao Cajo Branca dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Joao Cajo Branca seems to be getting the better of the standup.

That has opened up Joao Cajo Branca's cut even more.

and Branca counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Dimitrov lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Branca pushes Dimitrov back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Dimitrov tries to work over Branca's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Branca digs a right hand into Dimitrov's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Dimitrov's gas tank.

Branca throws a big uppercut that drops Dimitrov! More strikes from Branca and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Dimitrov lies dazed against the cage as Branca celebrates with his cornermen!
