Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Boaler (ranked 1635 p4p, 1242 weight class) and Joao Andrade (ranked 209 p4p, 166 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Jonathan Boaler has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jonathan Boaler seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jonathan Boaler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 5 - 1, fighting out of New York, Joao Andrade! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Russell Pearce and Joseph Jones.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boaler lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Joao Andrade seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Andrade throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Boaler sees it coming and avoids it easily. Andrade has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Andrade with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Andrade - that will leave a mark!

Boaler shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Andrade sprawls well. Andrade wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Boaler gets slowly back to his feet. Boaler stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Andrade. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Andrade's corner calls for a 1-2. Andrade obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Boaler wants to clinch.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Boaler throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Andrade takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
A slapping body kick lands there for Andrade. Andrade lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Boaler tries to clinch but Andrade is having none of it. Andrade misses with a straight right. Andrade scores with a punch to the head. Andrade tries to bum rush Boaler with a series of wild strikes but Boaler uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Boaler takes a swing at Andrade's ribcage but misses. Boaler misses with an uppercut.
Boaler gets tackled into the cage by Andrade. Andrade maintains the clinch.
Andrade pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Boaler moves into range and clinches up with Andrade. A head punch blocked on the inside by Boaler. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Andrade digs a right hand into Boaler's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Boaler's gas tank.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Andrade lands a shoulder strike. Andrade scores with a shoulder strike. Andrade has Boaler pressed against the cage.

Andrade got a little sloppy there for a moment and Boaler has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Andrade has managed to get both his arms back between Boaler's legs - danger averted. Boaler is trying to control the position but Andrade postures up.

 That's three minutes gone in the round.
Boaler escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Andrade gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Andrade must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Boaler has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Andrade is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Boaler.
Andrade decides to stand back up. Andrade steps back and let's Boaler get back to his feet. Boaler gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Andrade. Andrade throws a good cross that connects.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Boaler tries to clinch up. A countering left hand to the body from Andrade misses.
Boaler closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Andrade to the mat! Andrade manages to get full guard.
Andrade wriggles free and stands up. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Andrade moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Andrade moves out of range as Boaler strikes. Boaler fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Andrade fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Andrade moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Andrade tries to clinch but Boaler is having none of it. Andrade throws a leg kick but Boaler moved away. Andrade throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Andrade throws an overhand right that lands on Boaler's shoulder, as Boaler tries to avoid the shot. Andrade tries to work over Boaler's front leg with a kick but Boaler checks it. Boaler half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Joao Andrade dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Andrade with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Boaler to score with a decent uppercut. Joao Andrade seems to be getting the better of the standup. Andrade lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Andrade misses with a looping left. Boaler takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Andrade jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
 Boaler is rocked! Andrade cracks Boaler with an open hand slap. Oh Boaler is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Andrade lands a head shot. A shot to the body from Boaler misses and Andrade counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Boaler lands a nice shot to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Boaler throws a wild hook but Andrade just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Boaler gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Andrade raises his hands in celebration and walks away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joao Andrade! Joao Andrade decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
