Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gilbervan Soares (ranked 308 p4p, 1336 weight class) and David King (ranked 49 p4p, 183 weight class). King has chosen Manchester United Chants George Best Song Spirit In The Sky as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gilbervan Soares! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David King! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! King showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Soares.
King lands with a hook. Soares tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Soares gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Soares drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. King sneaks out the side door and pushes Soares away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. King loads up on a big right hand but Soares slips the punch. We've been hearing reports that Soares has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Soares throws an overhand right that lands on King's shoulder, as King tries to avoid the shot. King scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. King throws a body shot but no joy. Soares takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. King scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. King avoids the body shot from Soares.
Soares throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Soares is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
King cracks Soares with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. King has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Soares to stand back up!
Soares is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round. BAM! King delivers a spinning backfist that drops Soares like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Spinning Backfist). David King! David King is the new light heavyweight champion! An out of breath David King thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
