And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Gemechu McKraken!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Radbod Blank and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hill connects with a body shot.
McKraken with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Hill to score with a decent uppercut.
Hill works McKraken's body with a nice hook.
Hill fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches McKraken on the side of the head.
Hill looks to land a right hand but McKraken moved out of range.

Hill has closed the distance and engaged McKraken in a clinch.
McKraken lands a left hand.
Hill blocking some punches.
McKraken lands with a left to the head.
McKraken lands a right hand that snaps the head of Hill backwards.
Hill swings away with an uppercut that misses.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Hill has a couple of punches blocked by McKraken.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McKraken scores with a nice hook to the head.
A nice left hand lands by Hill.
A head punch on the inside from McKraken fails to land.
McKraken swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Hill misses with a body punch.
Hill throws a punch but it's blocked by McKraken.

Hill breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hill lands a nice shot that snaps McKraken's head back.
McKraken swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hill just misses with a punch to the body.
Hill definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hill moves in looking to clinch but McKraken pushes him off.
Hill throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Hill throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
McKraken drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Hill defends it well.
Hill takes a swing at McKraken's ribcage but misses.
Darrel Hill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hill fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
McKraken moves out of range of the strikes.
Hill walks into a jab.
McKraken uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hill.
A combination from McKraken does no damage.
McKraken throws out a loose jab but Hill uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hill is looking to counter punch.
McKraken throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hill.

McKraken looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hill wants to improve his position but McKraken is controlling well.
McKraken scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Hill taking some punishment here, with McKraken in his half guard.
Hill tries to get to full guard but McKraken has control of the leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McKraken thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

McKraken has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Hill defend it? McKraken steps over the head and cranks it - Hill is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for McKraken!

In his post fight interview, Gemechu McKraken started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
