Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tu Barrels (ranked 3015 p4p, 1671 weight class) and Shaka Zulu (ranked 308 p4p, 190 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zulu moves into the clinch successfully.
Zulu is working for takedown but Barrels is calmly controlling the position for now.
Zulu tries a body shot but Barrels blocks it.
Zulu lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Barrels blocking some punches.
Barrels lands a left hand that snaps the head of Zulu backwards.
Zulu blocks an uppercut.
Barrels throws a head punch that misses.
Zulu lands a nice knee to the body.
Barrels is breathing heavily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Zulu has hold of one of Barrels's legs. Barrels is fighting the takedown attempt but Zulu gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Barrels is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Zulu seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Barrels is not content to let Zulu control the position.
Barrels is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Barrels is working hard here to advance position.
Barrels wants to control but Zulu is keeping busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zulu works his way into side control.

Zulu looks up at the clock and then as Barrels takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Zulu smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Barrels is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Barrels is not content to let Zulu control the position.

Zulu is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Zulu trying to control the action but Barrels is working from the bottom.
Barrels is pressing down on Zulu's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Zulu with a flurry of punches that miss.

Zulu distracts Barrels with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Zulu sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Barrels's guard.
Barrels is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Westside Martial Arts, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Zulu drops an elbow to the side of Barrels's head.
Zulu lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Oh Barrels is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Zulu is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Barrels defends it well.
Barrels wants to get back to full guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Shaka Zulu dominated that round.
That's time! Barrels's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Barrels pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Zulu! But no joy.
Barrels seems to have got his legs back now.
Zulu misses with a body punch
and Barrels counters with a straight right hand.

It looks like Shaka Zulu has been cut.
A slow jab from Zulu misses its intended target.
Zulu steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Barrels.
Tu Barrels seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Barrels misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Zulu counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Barrels is rocked!

It looks like Tu Barrels has been cut.
Barrels listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Zulu looks to throw the jab but Barrels is out of range.
Zulu throws a hook but Barrels avoids it easily.
Zulu has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Zulu lands an uppercut, right on the button! Barrels tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Shaka Zulu!
After winning the bout, Shaka Zulu thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
