Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ispa Mfer (ranked 6 p4p, 45 weight class) and Muhammad Jabbar (ranked 2 p4p, 9 weight class). Ispa Mfer has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 23 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ispa Mfer! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Muhammad Jabbar! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Chris Edwards and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mfer getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Jabbar staying out of range there. Mfer lands a nice shot that snaps Jabbar's head back.
Mfer tries to close the distance and clinch but Jabbar swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Nice defenses there by Mfer. Jabbar has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Mfer displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jabbar throws out the jab. Jabbar takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Mfer throws a leg kick but Jabbar sees it coming and checks it nicely. Mfer takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
It looks like Ispa Mfer has been cut. Mfer swings widly with a right hand
and Jabbar counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Mfer misses with a lunging right hand
and Mfer takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Mfer with a hook. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mfer thuds his right hand into Jabbar's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Jabbar avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. A nice leg kick lands there from Mfer. Mfer looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Jabbar loads up on a big right hand but Mfer slips the punch. Jabbar moves away from the strike by Mfer. Mfer throws a leg kick and Jabbar connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Jabbar checks a low kick from Mfer. Jabbar steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. Mfer with the inside leg kick. Jabbar looks to throw a body kick and Mfer counters with a good, hard body kick but Jabbar shrugs it off. A bone on bone clash there as Jabbar blocks the leg kick.
A little jabbing left from Jabbar on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Jabbar throws a body punch but Mfer moves out of range. A decent looking cross lands there for Mfer. Jabbar lands a high kick!
Jabbar takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mfer throws a low kick but Jabbar avoids it. This has been an exciting period of action! Mfer loads up on a big right hand but Jabbar slips the punch. Jabbar raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Mfer throws a big shot that misses. Mfer throws a good cross that connects.
Jabbar on the wrong end of a nice hook. Mfer throws a leg kick but Jabbar moved away. Mfer throws a low kick but it's checked well by Jabbar. Jabbar counters with a body kick. Jabbar throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mfer sees it coming and avoids it easily. Jabbar gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Mfer. Mfer throws a lazy head kick and Jabbar counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Mfer throws a leg kick but Jabbar sees it coming and moves out of range. Jabbar looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Mfer with a nice calf kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A head kick from Mfer lands but Jabbar takes it in his stride. Mfer is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Jabbar scoring well with a low kick there.
Mfer slips a straight right by Jabbar. Mfer throws a leg kick and Mfer takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Ispa Mfer's cut is getting worse. Mfer looks to score with a jab to the body but Jabbar is just out of range. Mfer throws a front kick aimed at Jabbar's knee but Jabbar avoids it well. Mfer is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Mfer tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Jabbar checks a low kick from Mfer. Jabbar only half commits to the counter leg kick. Mfer lands with a straight right. Jabbar didn't see that one coming. Mfer uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Jabbar. Jabbar cracks a nice hook into Mfer's ribs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mfer tries a low kick but Jabbar avoids it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jabbar throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. A good leg kick by Jabbar. Jabbar misses with a straight left. Mfer throws a leg kick and Mfer takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Mfer avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Mfer lands a front kick. Jabbar takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Mfer will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Jabbar swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Mfer lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Mfer throws a hook but Jabbar avoids it easily. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ispa Mfer will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Ispa Mfer's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! An inside leg kick lands from Mfer. Mfer throws a chopping leg kick but Jabbar manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Jabbar thinks about the counter body kick. Mfer takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Jabbar throws a lazy right hand but Mfer sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Ispa Mfer is winning the standup battle so far. Mfer throws a wild body kick that Jabbar sees coming a mile off. Jabbar replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Mfer blocks it well. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Mfer. And Jabbar responds with a good body kick, but Mfer manages to step out the way in time. Jabbar ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jabbar ducks under a wild hook from Mfer. Ispa Mfer's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Mfer looks to land a right hand but Jabbar moved out of range. Jabbar is trying to counter with his kicks. Jabbar circles away from the clinch attempt and Jabbar counters with a body kick that stops Mfer in his tracks momentarily. Mfer misses with a hook to the body
and Jabbar counters with a crisp right that sends Mfer to the canvas! Jabbar follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
