PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bradley Beast (ranked 1965 p4p, 2339 weight class) and David Choke (ranked 273 p4p, 317 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bradley Beast!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 1, fighting out of London, David Choke!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beast shoots in looking for a takedown but Choke manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Beast's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Choke is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Beast misses with a takedown attempt - Choke sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Choke changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Beast pushes Choke up against the cage in a clinch.

Beast manages to break the clinch.
Bradley Beast seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Beast fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Choke tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Beast tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Choke swivels and escapes.
Beast has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Choke drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Beast gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Choke has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Beast avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Choke changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Beast fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Beast drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Choke prevents Beast from improving position.
Choke is not content to let Beast control the position.
Beast content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Choke is trying to get back to half guard.
Beast remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Choke is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Beast doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Choke.

Beast wants to stand back up but Choke manages to pass into side control.

Choke tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Choke has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Bradley Beast will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Beast shoots in and drives through. Choke sprawls well.
Choke shoots for a takedown but Beast saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Beast gets underhooks to prevent Choke's takedown attempt.

Nice body punch from Beast - that landed with a thud.
Choke is looking for a takedown.
Bradley Beast has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Choke.

Beast will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Choke up against the cage.

Choke is trying to drag Beast to the mat but Beast just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Beast is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Choke can do to turn this around?
Beast manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Beast closes the distance and clinches up with Choke, looking for a takedown. Beast pushes Choke against the cage but Choke circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Choke looking to score a takedown here. Beast is defending well but Choke drives through and ends up in Beast's guard.

Choke slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Choke cracks Beast with a big elbow.

Choke has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Beast is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Choke yanks on the arm and Beast is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Choke.
