Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cillian Murphy (ranked 765 p4p, 726 weight class) and Agansing Rai (ranked 109 p4p, 106 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Murphy might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Undead. Rai comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Break Stuff kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Agansing Rai!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Columbo Gatti and Steve Montenegro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy looks for a takedown but Rai sprawls well.
Murphy shoots in for a takedown but Rai shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Rai leaves Murphy with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
We've been informed that Rai has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Murphy is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Rai can't find room to land a body shot as Murphy controls the action.
Rai lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Murphy backwards.

Murphy has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Rai avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Rai bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Murphy's head backwards.

Oh Murphy is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Murphy seems to have got his legs back now.
Cillian Murphy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rai lands a jab to the head.
Rai misses with a double jab.
Rai wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Rai connects with the punch.
Murphy has his takedown stuffed
and Rai counters with a stiff right hand.
Murphy tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rai sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Murphy somewhat.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Murphy takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Murphy changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Murphy takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Rai paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Rai connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Rai lands a nice shot to the body.

Rai lands a left and a right that send Murphy crashing to the mat, dazed. Rai thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Rai slaps away a takedown attempt from Murphy, before circling back to the center of the mat.

A shot to the liver by Rai. Beautiful body shot.
Murphy will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Rai is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Murphy had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
Murphy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rai is fending him off so far but Murphy persists. Nope, Rai circles away and we're back to standing.
Murphy is breathing heavily.

Murphy goes for a double leg but Rai avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Rai continues to drive forward.
Still in the clinch, Rai scores with a nice short uppercut.

Rai drops Murphy onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Murphy is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

Rai breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Horrible takedown attempt by Murphy or perhaps it was just good defense by Rai, which made it look bad.

Rai dances in with a quick combination. Murphy is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Rai snaps Murphy's head back. Murphy stumbles backwards against the cage. Rai steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Murphy's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Murphy just didn't come prepared.
