Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lynton Miller (ranked 642 p4p, 626 weight class) and Azriel Pandens (ranked 86 p4p, 84 weight class). Miller's entrance music is Tool - Sober. A fine choice. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 17 - 10 - 2, fighting out of Sydney, Lynton Miller! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 20 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Azriel Pandens! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Pandens. No joy for Miller on that attempt. Pandens let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Miller lands a leg kick that knocks Pandens off balance momentarily. A slow jab from Pandens misses its intended target. Miller shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pandens as he jumps to the side. Miller misses with a straight left. Miller is looking to clinch. Miller connects with a right hand. Pandens shakes it off. Miller throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Miller looks to land a left hand but Pandens moved out of range nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Miller uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Pandens has time to react. Miller is looking to slow Pandens down with leg kicks. Lynton Miller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice straight punches there by Miller. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Miller. Miller closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Miller lands in his opponent's guard. This has been an exciting period of action! A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Pandens holds on and takes a little breather.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miller scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Miller distracts Pandens with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Miller trying to control but Pandens is working from the bottom. Miller is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Pandens keeping moving, preventing Miller from controlling successfully. Pandens is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Pandens managing to control the position. Pandens working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Miller. Pandens looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Miller trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Miller wants to control from the top but Pandens keeps moving. That's two minutes gone in the round. Miller has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Miller scores with a decent looking elbow strike. We've been hearing that Miller has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Pandens stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Miller swivels though and keeps the full guard. Miller keeping moving, preventing Pandens from controlling successfully. Miller is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Miller is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Miller lands with a punch from half guard. Pandens avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Miller. Miller working Pandens over with strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Miller lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Miller wants to control but Pandens is keeping him busy. Miller thows a huge punch but Pandens dodges it nicely.

Pandens looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Miller tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pandens was well out of range. Poor timing from Miller. Miller takes the fight into the clinch. Pandens breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Miller throws a hook to the side of Pandens's head but Pandens sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Pandens defending well as Miller loads up on a big left hand. It seemed like Pandens was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Miller thows a left - swing and a miss! Miller forces Pandens back against the cage and clinches. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Miller is looking for a takedown. Pandens can't break the clinch.

Pandens must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Miller pulls Pandens in to control the position. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Pandens wants to pass the guard but Miller is keeping the position. Pandens is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Pandens being controlled here momentarily.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Miller is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Pandens can do to turn this around? The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Miller clinches. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round! Miller tries to clinch but fails miserably letting Pandens counter with a right hand. Miller tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Pandens manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Miller scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Miller tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pandens sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Miller somewhat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pandens does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Miller closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Miller clinches with his opponent.

Miller lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Pandens backwards. Miller lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Miller pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Pandens takes a shot right to the bread basket. Miller fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Pandens on the side of the head. Miller shoots for a takedown but Pandens saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Miller gets the takedown into side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Miller working away. Pandens is trying to get back to half guard. Miller misses with the ground and pound. Miller cracks Pandens with a big right hand but Pandens just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
