Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Barry McCockiner (ranked 385 p4p, 252 weight class) and Wolfgang Brandstatter (ranked 60 p4p, 36 weight class). McCockiner comes to the cage accompanied by Farewell to Cheyenn. The crowd seem to be enjoying Brandstatter's choice of entrance music: The Maestro. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch lands to the side of McCockiner 's head but he takes it in his stride.

It looks like Barry McCockiner has been cut.
McCockiner stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Brandstatter takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
McCockiner darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Brandstatter does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

and Brandstatter makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

McCockiner closes the distance and pushes Brandstatter back into the cage.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Barry McCockiner will probably get the nod.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
