The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, William Gold and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Popkov tries to move into range but Sanguinetti moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
It looks like Mikhail Popkov has been cut.
Sanguinetti looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Popkov throws a sloppy head kick
and Sanguinetti counters with a straight right hand.

and Popkov counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Popkov throws out a leg kick but Sanguinetti moves out of range and Popkov only half commits.

Popkov looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Popkov pivots, looking for a leg kick but Sanguinetti is out of range and Popkov settles back down.
Sanguinetti swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

It looked like Sanguinetti wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Popkov misses with a straight right.
A counter left hand to the body from Sanguinetti misses its target.
Popkov keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sanguinetti.
Sanguinetti ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Popkov has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Popkov looks to land a left hand but Sanguinetti moved out of range nicely.

Popkov scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Popkov swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Sanguinetti counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Sanguinetti drops Popkov with a beautiful combination! Popkov stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Sanguinetti is looking for the KO!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sanguinetti was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Sanguinetti steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Popkov is out on his feet! Sanguinetti sets himself and nearly takes Popkov's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
