Takahashi comes to the cage accompanied by TWIST THAT D*CK. Ryoto Takahashi could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Richard Morrison's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ryoto Takahashi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Richard Morrison!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Morrison does no damage.
Morrison looks to land a left hand but Takahashi moved out of range nicely.
Morrison pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Takahashi throws a shot from downtown. Morrison moves away and avoids it.
And Morrison responds with a good body kick, but Takahashi manages to step out the way in time.
Morrison shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Takahashi tried to counter with a leg kick but Morrison avoided it.
Morrison tries to move into range but Takahashi moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Takahashi on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Morrison. Morrison obviously looking to wear him down.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Takahashi looks to land a right hand but Morrison moved out of range.
Takahashi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Morrison scoring well with a low kick there.

Takahashi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
As Takahashi backs off Morrison throws a huge counter combo but Takahashi manages to avoid it all.
Takahashi connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Morrison's hands.
Takahashi lands with a kick to the ribs.
Morrison misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Takahashi.
A cross from Takahashi lands.

It looks like Richard Morrison has been cut.

Takahashi rushes Morrison and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Takahashi swings wildly with an uppercut but Morrison uses good head movement to avoid it.
A right hook to the body lands for Takahashi.
Takahashi misses with the head strike.

Takahashi jumps into guard, dragging Morrison to the mat.
Takahashi pulls Morrison in close to prevent any damage.

Takahashi is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Takahashi is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Morrison defends well.
Morrison is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Takahashi is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Takahashi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Morrison can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Morrison stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Takahashi swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Morrison really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Takahashi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Morrison is fighting to break Takahashi's control of his arms but Takahashi is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Takahashi is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Morrison wants to control from the top but Takahashi keeps moving.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Takahashi slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Morrison throws a body shot but no joy.
A little feinted left hand from Takahashi on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Takahashi misses with a straight right.
Morrison is looking for the big counter here.
Morrison steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Takahashi.
Morrison lands with a thumping leg kick.
Takahashi throws a lazy uppercut
and Morrison counters with a nice body kick.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Takahashi scores with a punch to the head.
Morrison uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Takahashi.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Takahashi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Takahashi misses with a looping left.
Takahashi is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Morrison can do to turn this around?
Morrison misses with a hook to the body
and Takahashi counters with an outside leg kick.

Takahashi throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Morrison tumbling to the canvas!

Takahashi slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Morrison is still in real trouble! Can Takahashi finish him?

Takahashi working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The referee asks Takahashi politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Takahashi prefers to stall for the moment though.

Morrison seems to have recovered his senses.
Morrison is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Morrison prevents Takahashi from improving position.
Takahashi is looking to take a break and control but Morrison is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Takahashi passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Morrison!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Morrison is in all sorts of trouble here.
Richard Morrison has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Takahashi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Morrison is looking to escape.

Takahashi jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Morrison is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Morrison and Takahashi has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Morrison is trying to get back to half guard.
Takahashi is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Morrison is trying desperately to improve position.
Morrison prevents any damage by holding on tight.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Takahashi looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Takahashi lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Morrison backs up against the cage.
Morrison misses with a straight right.
Morrison tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Takahashi was well out of range. Poor timing from Morrison.

and Takahashi counters with a low kick, right behind Morrison 's knee.

Takahashi lands a nice leg kick that just misses Morrison's sensitive parts.
Morrison throws a wild body kick that Takahashi sees coming a mile off.

Morrison is looking to land body kicks.
Takahashi was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Morrison finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Morrison throws a sloppy head kick and Takahashi moves out of range easily.
Ryoto Takahashi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Takahashi lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Takahashi connects with a good right hand that stumbles Morrison. Morrison circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Takahashi drops Morrison with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Morrison! Takahashi dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ryoto Takahashi!
A very excited looking Ryoto Takahashi made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
