Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Dawkins (ranked 1518 p4p, 821 weight class) and David Scott (ranked 228 p4p, 129 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Dawkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, David Scott!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Bruno Hogan and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott slips a straight right by Dawkins.
Scott with the counter takedown but Dawkins avoids it easily.
Dawkins lands a jab.
Scott takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Scott avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Dawkins loads up on a big right hand but Scott slips the punch.

Dawkins fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Scott, pushing him back against the cage.

Dawkins pulls Scott into guard.
Dawkins wants to sweep but no luck.
Dawkins has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Scott must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Scott not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Dawkins wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dawkins is working hard here to advance position.

Scott stays in close to Dawkins's body and controls the position.
Dawkins manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Scott manages to get himself to full guard.


Scott looking for a guillotine here but Dawkins defends easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dawkins chips away with some ground and pound.

Scott looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Dawkins passes into half guard.

Dawkins is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Scott defends it well.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Dawkins slips a nice elbow through Scott's hands, connecting with Scott's forehead.
Dawkins landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Dawkins is taking a breather. Scott says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Scott keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Dawkins looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Scott with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Scott makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Scott.
Dawkins trying to control the position from guard on top but Scott is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Scott is looking for a triangle but Dawkins pushes his legs off easily.
Dawkins has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Dawkins trying to control the position from guard on top but Scott is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Dawkins with a nice head shot there.

Scott has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Dawkins is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Scott.
Dawkins lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Dawkins lands some shots froms side control.
A lull in the action here.
Scott is not content to let Dawkins control the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Scott tries to improve position but can't.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jason Dawkins dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Dawkins fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Scott is out of range.
Dawkins rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Scott moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Scott drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Dawkins defends it well.
Dawkins lands a glancing blow to the side of Scott's head.
Scott tries to clinch but Dawkins is having none of it.
Dawkins falls off balance throwing a combination
and Scott cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Dawkins misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Scott.
Dawkins waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Scott.
Dawkins finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Dawkins is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Scott can do to turn this around?

A little jabbing left from Scott on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Dawkins cracks Scott with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Scott takes one to the chin there.
Dawkins throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Scott looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Scott tries to clinch but Dawkins moves out of range.
Dawkins looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Scott throws out a counter right but Dawkins avoids it with no problem.

Dawkins shoots in and gets a takedown into Scott's guard.
Dawkins is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Jason Dawkins overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Dawkins is posturing up here but Scott has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Dawkins tries to roll out but it's too tight and Dawkins has to tap! Slick submission there by Scott!
