Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Short (ranked 1027 p4p, 449 weight class) and Mike Ziegler (ranked 58 p4p, 28 weight class). Short comes to the cage accompanied by Survivor - Eye Of The Tiger. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jerry Short!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mike Ziegler!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Sam Margolis and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Short dives in and scores a takedown into Ziegler's guard.
Ziegler preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Short throws a big elbow that misses.
Short passes Ziegler's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Ziegler is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Short is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ziegler defends it well.
Short has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Short has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Short trying to control from half guard but Ziegler is working away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Short thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ziegler blocking the ground and pound attempt from Short.
Ziegler tries to roll over but Short keeps him under control.
Short works his way into full mount!
Short prevents Ziegler from getting the reversal.
Short sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Short looking to ground and pound but Ziegler is blocking nicely.
Short is working for a guillotine from mount but Ziegler frees his head quite easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ziegler defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Short.
Short stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Short shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ziegler as he avoids it easily.
Short will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Ziegler uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Short throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ziegler's waist but Ziegler gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Short off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jerry Short. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Short takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Short misses with a takedown attempt
and Ziegler counters with a slapping leg kick.

Ziegler scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Short doesn't seem bothered though.
Nice cross by Ziegler.
It looks like Jerry Short has been cut.
Short on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Mike Ziegler is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A thudding body kick lands there by Ziegler!
Short is breathing heavily.
Short shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ziegler but Ziegler pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ziegler drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Short right on the button. Short goes down! Ziegler follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Ziegler gets the win via TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mike Ziegler!
