Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Noah Ortega (ranked 2808 p4p, 2838 weight class) and Douglas Cardozo (ranked 356 p4p, 359 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Ortega trying to control the position from guard on top but Cardozo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ortega sitting in guard, not really doing much. Ortega throws a big right hand that misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cardozo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ortega doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Cardozo is tightening it up a little... Ortega has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Ortega reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Ortega taps out! Nice BJJ there by Cardozo!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Douglas Cardozo! After winning the bout, Douglas Cardozo thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
