Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tom Tomson (ranked 1881 p4p, 1693 weight class) and Albert Pulkkinen (ranked 59 p4p, 52 weight class). Albert Pulkkinen told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tom Tomson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Albert Pulkkinen!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pulkkinen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Tomson.
Tomson scores with a nice head shot.
It looks like Albert Pulkkinen has been cut.
Pulkkinen throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pulkkinen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tomson appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Tomson dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Pulkkinen looks to throw a body kick
and Tomson counters with a good low kick that Pulkkinen was not able to check.
Tomson digs a good body shot into Pulkkinen's ribs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pulkkinen throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Good work by Tomson as he checks the leg kick.
Tomson buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Tomson drops Pulkkinen with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Pulkkinen looks back up at him and smiles so Tomson waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Pulkkinen is rocked!
A looping hook to the body misses from Pulkkinen. Tomson does a little dance to reset his feet.

Tomson seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Tomson looks to land a combination but Pulkkinen avoids it well.
It seemed like Pulkkinen was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Tomson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pulkkinen wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

and Tomson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Tomson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Albert Pulkkinen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pulkkinen slips a straight right by Tomson.
Pulkkinen sizes up Tomson with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Tomson tries to bum rush Pulkkinen with a series of wild strikes but Pulkkinen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Pulkkinen lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tomson circles away quickly and effectively.
Tomson swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Tomson looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pulkkinen has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Tomson.
Pulkkinen throws an off balance right hand
and Tomson counters with a crisp right that sends Pulkkinen to the canvas! Tomson follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!

During a confident post fight interview, Tom Tomson thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
