Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marcel Romanow!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romanow fails with the takedown
and Vega counters with a stiff right hand.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Check out the look on Romanow's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Romanow tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Romanow has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Vega can't do much from the bottom here.
The ground and pound from Romanow seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Romanow working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Romanow is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Vega knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Romanow looks to throw the jab but Vega is out of range.

Vega throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
And Romanow tries to counter it with a takedown but Vega pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Vega looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Romanow closes this distance looking for a takedown but Vega circles away.

Vega displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Romanow.
Marcel Romanow seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Romanow throws a hook but Vega blocks it.
Vega keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Keaton Vega has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcel Romanow.

Romanow manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Vega on his heels. He'll look to pass Vega's guard now, I'm sure.

Vega knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Romanow on the ground.

Romanow has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vega can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Vega stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Romanow swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Romanow is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Romanow escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vega gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Vega will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Romanow is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Vega has his hands clasped together but Romanow extends and breaks Vega's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Romanow.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Marcel Romanow!
A relieved looking Marcel Romanow thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
