Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Basko Godwin (ranked 772 p4p, 725 weight class) and Spencer Rubenstein (ranked 115 p4p, 109 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Basko Godwin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 28 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Spencer Rubenstein! The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Damien Edna and Ben Watson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Godwin misses with the combination.
Godwin defending well as Rubenstein loads up on a big left hand. Godwin appears to be looking for a big counter. Rubenstein loads up on a big right hand but Godwin slips the punch. Rubenstein avoids the head kick by Godwin.
Rubenstein swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Godwin counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Rubenstein looks to score with a jab to the body but Godwin is just out of range. Godwin tried to counter with a leg kick but Rubenstein avoided it. Rubenstein throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Rubenstein takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rubenstein misses with a double jab
and Godwin counters with a one-two to the body. Rubenstein misses with a straight left. Rubenstein misses with a lunging right hand
and Godwin counters with an inside leg kick. Godwin has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Canadian Combat Academy in the buildup to the fight.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rubenstein misses with a looping left. Rubenstein rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Godwin counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. No joy there for Godwin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rubenstein swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Rubenstein defending well as Godwin loads up on a big left hand. It seemed like Rubenstein was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Rubenstein throws a big shot that misses. Rubenstein misses with an uppercut. Rubenstein falls off balance throwing a combination
and Godwin counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Godwin blocks a jab. Rubenstein throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Godwin scores with a hook. Rubenstein throws a hook but Godwin avoids it easily. Godwin swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rubenstein misses with an uppercut
and Godwin counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rubenstein misses with a hook. Godwin ducked under it nicely. Godwin was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Rubenstein misses with a left hand and Godwin counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Rubenstein might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Godwin scores with a jab to the body. Rubenstein throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Godwin sees it coming and avoids it easily. Rubenstein throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Godwin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Rubenstein works the jab nicely. Rubenstein throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Godwin scores with a head kick. Rubenstein tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Rubenstein is rocked!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Godwin connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Rubenstein misses with a right hand and Godwin counters with a nice right hand that sends Rubenstein toppling to the canvas! Rubenstein scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Godwin finish him?! Rubenstein is still on wobbly legs! Can Godwin finish him? Rubenstein throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Godwin counters with a right hand to the body. Rubenstein gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Godwin gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Rubenstein is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Basko Godwin! A relieved looking Basko Godwin thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
