Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andor Seres (ranked 495 p4p, 413 weight class) and Genkei Takahashi (ranked 59 p4p, 52 weight class). Andor Seres has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 24 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andor Seres! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 14 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Genkei Takahashi! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Colin Fotheringham and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice body punch from Takahashi. Seres misses with a body shot.
A punch lands to the side of Takahashi 's head but he takes it in his stride. Seres misses with a head kick.
Takahashi changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Seres fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Takahashi lands a nice leg kick that just misses Seres's sensitive parts. Takahashi bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Takahashi throws a lazy uppercut
and Seres counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Seres fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Takahashi on the side of the head. Seres checks a leg kick. Andor Seres is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jab, jab by Seres - just one landing.
Takahashi is rocked! Seres throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Takahashi is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Takahashi tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Seres lands a big right hand that sends Takahashi crashing to the mat! Seres stays standing though and waves Takahashi back to his feet! Takahashi is still on wobbly legs! Can Seres finish him? Seres throws a sloppy head kick and Takahashi moves out of range easily. This has been an exciting period of action! Takahashi drives through with a takedown into Seres's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Takahashi would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Takahashi looking to sit in guard and control but Seres gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Takahashi throws his legs up looking for a submission but Seres uses it to pass to side control.
Takahashi seems to have recovered his senses. Takahashi is trying to work for a sweep but Seres has mounted him!

That's three minutes gone in the round. We've been hearing that Seres has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Takahashi reaches up to try and control the position but Seres seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Takahashi rolls and tries to escape and now Seres has his back!
Seres gets his hands free as Takahashi looks to control. You can see the frustration on Takahashi's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Takahashi trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Takahashi rolls, trying to escape but Seres keeps control of the position.
Takahashi is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Seres is trying to stick to Takahashi's back but Takahashi is turning into Seres. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Seres's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Takahashi. Takahashi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Seres swivels though and keeps the full guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Andor Seres dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Takahashi throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Seres was covering up waiting for the punch and Takahashi finishes the takedown easily into guard. Seres keeping moving, preventing Takahashi from controlling successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Takahashi in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Takahashi trying to control but Seres is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takahashi postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Seres is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Takahashi, into his guard.
Takahashi has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Seres is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Takahashi. Takahashi trying his best to control but Seres has mounted him. Takahashi felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Takahashi is working to get back to half guard.
Takahashi bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Takahashi throws an elbow that misses. Seres uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Takahashi's guard. Nice move by Seres!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Takahashi throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Takahashi looking for a sweep. Not yet Takahashi, not yet. Takahashi is looking for a triangle here but Seres uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Takahashi tries to buck Seres off but Seres is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Takahashi looks to move to half guard but instead Seres has passed into mount! Damn! Takahashi is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Takahashi regains half guard. Takahashi is looking to control Seres's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Takahashi avoid being mounted? And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Andor Seres will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round! Takahashi thumps Seres with a low kick. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Seres slips under a jab from Takahashi. Seres was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Seres throws a low kick but it's checked well by Takahashi. And Takahashi tries to counter it with a takedown but Seres pushes his down on his head and steps out. A kick lands to the mid section there for Takahashi. Seres lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Takahashi at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Takahashi stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Seres. Genkei Takahashi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Seres swings and misses with a hook to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Seres pivots, looking for a leg kick but Takahashi is out of range and Seres settles back down. Seres is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Takahashi can do to turn this around? Takahashi shoots for a takedown but Seres saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Takahashi with a poor takedown and Seres makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Takahashi takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Andor Seres is winning the standup battle so far. Takahashi misses with a body shot.
Seres swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Takahashi cracks a nice hook into Seres's ribs. Takahashi throws an overhand right that lands on Seres's shoulder, as Seres tries to avoid the shot. An attempted straight right counter from Seres misses the target. Takahashi misses the shot to the body. Genkei Takahashi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Seres throws a sloppy head kick and Takahashi moves out of range easily. Takahashi scores with a nice head shot. Takahashi lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Takahashi comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Seres throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Takahashi misses with a left hand and Seres counters with a nice uppercut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Takahashi moves out of range of the leg kick from Seres. Takahashi lands a really nice looking cross but Seres seems unphased.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Takahashi scores with a decent looking hook. Seres throws a hook but Takahashi avoids it easily. Takahashi shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Seres is trying to defend but Takahashi finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Takahashi is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Seres defends it well. Takahashi tries to pass the half guard into mount. Seres knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Takahashi not landing any meaningful shots this time. Takahashi is working for a kimura but Seres is defending it quite comfortably.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Seres keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
And that's the end of the fight! Genkei Takahashi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Seres has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
