Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Arlo Cash! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mateo Peres! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Josh West and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jab from Peres. Cash is looking to clinch but Peres is avoiding it.
Peres shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Cash eats them both and turns towards Peres to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Cash tries to clinch but Peres moves out of range. Peres lands with a shot to the body. Arlo Cash seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cash is looking to clinch but Peres is avoiding it.
Cash is looking to clinch. Peres throws a right hand that Cash ducks under and follows up with a left that Cash also avoids with ease. Peres scores with the left hand. Cash knows he should have avoided that one. Cash wants to clinch. Peres avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Peres throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Cash tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Cash moves in looking to clinch but Peres pushes him off. Peres thows a left - swing and a miss! Peres swats away the attempt to clinch by Cash. Cash walks into a straight right hand from Peres. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Peres keeps the fight on the outside. Peres throws a series of punches but Cash avoids them all with ease. Cash closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cash jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Peres walks away with a smile on his face. Cash gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Cash clinches up with Peres and pushes him back against the cage. Cash fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Cash decides to pull guard. Peres scoring with some ground and pound. Cash has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Peres can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Cash is trying to control the position but Peres postures up. Peres looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Peres tries to free his leg and advance position but Cash is retaining full guard. Peres trying to control but Cash is working from the bottom. Cash is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Peres rolls with it to try and escape but Cash cranks on the arm and Peres is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
