Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Plusnin (ranked 830 p4p, 1063 weight class) and Inspektor Gee (ranked 100 p4p, 126 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Plusnin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 25 - 20 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Inspektor Gee! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick from Gee lands but Plusnin takes it in his stride.
It looks like Vladimir Plusnin has been cut. Gee's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Plusnin connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Gee scrambles back to his feet. Gee looks to score with a jab to the body but Plusnin is just out of range. Inspektor Gee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A slow jab from Plusnin misses its intended target. Plusnin is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Plusnin is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gee can do to turn this around? Gee throws a body shot but no joy. The fighters circling - Gee throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Plusnin throws a poor cross that misses

Gee's coach down at St Petersburg MMA Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Gee's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Plusnin shoots in looking for a takedown but Gee manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Plusnin's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Gee wants to counter the offense by Plusnin and move into the clinch position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Plusnin shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gee napping and manages to drive through into side control! This has been an exciting period of action! Gee is not content to let Plusnin control the position. Plusnin lands a nice forearm strike. Gee tries to escape but Plusnin is in control. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nice jab there from Gee. Gee has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Gee with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Gee moves into the clinch. Gee is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Plusnin is defending well for now. Gee looks to throw an elbow but misses. Plusnin trying to stall but Gee improves his position.
Plusnin jumps guard but Gee stands there with Plusnin around his waist. Plusnin gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vladimir Plusnin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gee throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Plusnin blocks it with crossed arms. Gee tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Plusnin takes a knee right on the jaw!

A close second round but Inspektor Gee will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Vladimir Plusnin's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round! Plusnin missing with a left hand there. Gee was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Gee wants to counter the offense by Plusnin and move into the clinch position. Gee looks to land a combination but Plusnin avoids it well. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gee lands a damaging elbow.
Plusnin is rocked! Plusnin prevents a body shot from Gee. Oh Plusnin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Plusnin tries to stall but Gee uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Plusnin seems to have got his legs back now. Inspektor Gee seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gee lands a big knee! That's hurt Plusnin! Oh, he's all over the place! Gee lands another knee that sends Plusnin to the floor and the referee steps in to end the fight!
