The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Minoru Ii just misses with a punch to the body.

It seemed like Minoru Ii was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Minoru Ii listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Minoru Ii stuffs the takedown attempt from Bar. Bar gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jonny Bar. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bar needs to keep his hands up - Minoru Ii had a free shot at his head there.
Bar keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Minoru Ii lands with an overhand left.

Minoru Ii lands with an uppercut that bounces Bar off the cage and back into range.
Kohinata Minoru Ii seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bar bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Minoru Ii can do anything to dispel that myth.

Bar is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Minoru Ii has escaped the position, nice work there.

Bar tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bar has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Minoru Ii parries the strikes from Bar easily there. Bar is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Minoru Ii to escape.
Minoru Ii really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bar postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The ground and pound from Bar seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Bar throws a strike aimed at the side of Minoru Ii's head but Minoru Ii avoids it well.

Bar is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Minoru Ii knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Bar goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Minoru Ii has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Bar but great work by Minoru Ii.

Bar seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Bar is looking to cinch up a triangle. Minoru Ii throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Bar's body to avoid the submission. Bar has instead reached around Minoru Ii's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Bar arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
