Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Short (ranked 1391 p4p, 813 weight class) and Billy Crawley (ranked 64 p4p, 44 weight class). Short comes to the cage accompanied by Survivor - Eye Of The Tiger. Crawley has chosen Jewelry - One More Time as his entrance music. Billy Crawley will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jerry Short! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 16 - 10 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Billy Crawley! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crawley scoring well with a low kick there.
Short shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Short was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Short thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Crawley tries to escape but Short is in control. Crawley is not content to let Short control the position. Short tries to move into full mount but can't pass Crawley's legs. Short wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Crawley, who protects the arm well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Short is trying to get an arm triangle but Crawley is defending well. Short looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's one minute gone in the round. Short thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Short is looking for a kimura. He might have it! Crawley pushes Short away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Short gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Short looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Crawley is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Short asserts his dominance and retains side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Short swings around for an armbar but Crawley sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Short's guard. Short throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Crawley wants to stand but Short is controlling his posture from full guard. Short is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. We've been hearing good reports from Short's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Crawley tries to stand but Short is controlling from the bottom. Short is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Crawley has his hands clasped together but Short extends and breaks Crawley's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Short.
