Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Custer (ranked 347 p4p, 392 weight class) and Maxim Ward (ranked 50 p4p, 55 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Ward's choice of entrance music: ERA - Ameno. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 21 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jesse Custer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 19 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Maxim Ward! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Andrew Berry and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ward moves away from the strike by Custer. Ward throws a counter combo. Ward throws a nice looking combination but Custer bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Custer throws a nice outside leg kick. Custer swings for the body but Ward moves out of range.
The fighters circle momentarily. Ward darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Ward lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Ward tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Custer swivels and escapes. Ward avoids the body shot from Custer.
Ward connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Custer needs to keep his hands up - Ward had a free shot at his head there. A looping hook to the body misses from Custer. Ward does a little dance to reset his feet. Ward shoots in but no luck this time. Custer tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ward manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Ward loads up on a big right hand but Custer slips the punch. A punch combination from Ward misses. Custer throws a body shot but no joy. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Custer swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Ward. We've been told by Custer's head coaches at FF Forever that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Ward motions for Custer to come forward. Ward throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Ward shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Custer defends it nicely. Jesse Custer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maxim Ward.
That's one minute gone in the round. A jab lands there for Custer. Ward looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Custer takes a body punch but keeps moving. Ward bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Jesse Custer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Custer tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Jab from Ward. Ward shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Custer counters with a stiff right hand. Custer drives through and clinches with Ward against the cage.
Ward drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Custer gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Ward dodges an elbow strike from Custer.
Custer can't find room to land a body shot as Ward controls the action.
Custer softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. A nice right hand lands inside from Custer. This has been an exciting period of action! Ward lands with a left to the head. We've been informed that Ward has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Custer lands a body punch. Ward is trying to pull guard but Custer turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ward scores with a shot to the side of Custer's head. Custer working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Custer throws a head punch that misses. Custer pushes Ward back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Custer swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Ward jumps into guard, dragging Custer to the mat.
Custer decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Ward gets tackled into the cage by Custer. Custer maintains the clinch. Ward tries to pull guard but Custer forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Ward can't get the takedown.

Ward swings wildly with an uppercut but Custer uses good head movement to avoid it. Custer tries to land knees in the clinch but Ward avoids the damage to the body. Custer gets underhooks to prevent Ward's takedown attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Ward tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Ward blocking some punches.
Custer lands a left hand that snaps the head of Ward backwards. Custer throws an elbow that misses.
Ward misses with a punch on the inside.
Custer misses with a hook to the ribs.
Ward pulls Custer into guard.
Custer is looking to stand up but Ward won't let him. Custer decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. A solid leg kick lands there for Custer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ward has a takedown stuffed. Custer swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. A nice leg kick lands there from Custer. Custer is looking to wear down Ward with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Ward steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Custer. Ward is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Custer takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Ward lands a right hook to the body.
Custer takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Custer swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ward throws a lazy right hand but Custer sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Ward uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Custer.
Ward shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Custer but Custer pushes him off and we're back to square one. A quick step to the side and Custer tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Custer misses with a body shot.
Custer tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ward manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. A little jabbing left from Ward on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Custer drops Ward with a beautiful combination! Ward stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Custer is looking for the KO!
Ward is rocked!
It looks like Maxim Ward has been cut. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Custer ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Ward is still on wobbly legs! Can Custer finish him? Ward scores with a nice head shot. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jesse Custer dominated that round. The cut man is working on Maxim Ward's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Custer looks to score with a jab to the body but Ward is just out of range. Ward seems to have recovered his senses. Ward throws a series of punches but Custer moves out of range. Custer tried to counter with a leg kick but Ward avoided it. Custer slips under a jab from Ward. Ward uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Custer.
Ward instigates a clinch. Custer lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Custer lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Ward backwards. Custer lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Ward has a couple of punches blocked by Custer.

Horrible takedown attempt by Ward or perhaps it was just good defense by Custer, which made it look bad. Ward is trying hard to land a takedown here. Custer sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Custer feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Ward sprawling to the canvas! Ward rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Custer finish him?!
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Custer throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Custer swats away the attempt to clinch by Ward. Ward wants to clinch and Custer counters with a crisp right that sends Ward to the canvas! Custer follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
