Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Takeda Shida!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shida takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Vargas digs a right hand into Shida's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Shida's gas tank.

Vargas lands a nice uppercut.
Vargas lands a shoulder strike.
A short body shot lands from Vargas as the two fighters clinch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Arturo Vargas dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Vargas feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Shida sprawling to the canvas! Shida rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Vargas finish him?!
Shida just misses with a punch to the body.
Vargas fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Shida to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Shida looks to clinch but Vargas throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Shida taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Arturo Vargas!
After winning the bout, Arturo Vargas thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
