Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zima Voin (ranked 1689 p4p, 1139 weight class) and Wesley Shutes (ranked 254 p4p, 169 weight class). Wesley Shutes has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 14 - 2, fighting out of London, Wesley Shutes!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shutes misses with a body kick.
Voin attempts a counter takedown but Shutes avoids it well and moves away.
Shutes throws a body punch but Voin moves out of range.
Voin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Shutes paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Voin fails with the takedown
and Shutes counters with a stiff right hand.
Voin misses with a hook. Shutes ducked under it nicely.

and Shutes counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Shutes, as that shot connected.
Shutes lands a really nice looking cross but Voin seems unphased.

Voin darts in and clinches Shutes up against the cage.

Shutes has a hand on Voin's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Voin takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

We've been hearing good reports from Voin's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Voin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shutes tries to avoid it but Voin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shutes to the ground. Shutes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Shutes cracks Voin with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Voin passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Shutes!

I really don't envy Shutes right now.

That was a close second round but I would say that Zima Voin will probably get the nod.

It looked like Voin wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Voin has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Shutes is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Voin looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Voin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Shutes sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Voin somewhat.

Voin has Shutes up against the cage in a clinch.
Shutes unloads a knee to the mid-section. Voin lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Shutes pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Shutes using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Voin has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Shutes has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
