Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Butch Frewin (ranked 536 p4p, 1719 weight class) and Wes Ekwall (ranked 32 p4p, 85 weight class). Frewin comes into the arena with Billy the Squid's Water Pistol by The Neptunas blaring out of the sound system. Ekwall comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Enter the Sandman kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 17 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Butch Frewin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wes Ekwall! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Darius Henderson and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Frewin has taken the fight to the clinch.
Ekwall tries to throw a body punch but Frewin avoids it by throwing Ekwall back against the cage. A head punch blocked on the inside by Frewin. Frewin lands a hook to the side of the head. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Frewin. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Frewin. Frewin misses with a hook to the ribs.
Ekwall scores with a nice hook to the head. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Ekwall. A nice right hand lands inside from Ekwall. Frewin lands with a short head shot on the inside. Frewin tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Ekwall's elbow. Ekwall misses with the head strike.
Ekwall throws a punch but it's blocked by Frewin. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Ekwall. Ekwall tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Frewin's elbow. Frewin misses with a short punch on the inside. Ekwall blocking some punches.
Ekwall missing with knees to the body.
Frewin lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Ekwall.
That's one minute gone in the round. A right hook to the body lands for Ekwall.
A head punch on the inside from Ekwall fails to land. Frewin lands on the inside with an uppercut. Frewin lands a hook to the side of the head. Ekwall breaks from the clinch.
Frewin is looking to slow Ekwall down with leg kicks. Frewin throws a hook but Ekwall avoids it easily. Ekwall uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Ekwall misses with a looping left. It looked like Frewin wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Ekwall throws a jab but it's blocked by Frewin. Ekwall throws a right hand that Frewin ducks under and follows up with a left that Frewin also avoids with ease. Ekwall throws a right and a left that both miss. Frewin misses with a looping left. Ekwall lands with a shot to the body. Wes Ekwall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. This has been an exciting period of action! Frewin throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ekwall sees it coming and avoids it easily. Ekwall will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
An attempted straight right counter from Frewin misses the target. Frewin has been working on his boxing with his coaches at House of 1000 Corpses in the buildup to the fight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Frewin avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Frewin throws a quick counter kick to the body but Ekwall avoids it. Frewin avoids the body shot from Ekwall.
Ekwall takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Ekwall looks winded! Ekwall connects with a good right hand that stumbles Frewin. Frewin circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Ekwall fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Frewin was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Frewin drops Ekwall with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Ekwall looks back up at him and smiles so Frewin waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
It looks like Wes Ekwall has been cut. Frewin throws a jab but it's blocked by Ekwall. Frewin drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Ekwall's head, knocking him out cold! Frewin is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Butch Frewin! Butch Frewin thanked the fans post fight for their support. Wes Ekwall was interviewed post fight and said 'I will tell you. I have been hit harder by hooker's thighs. He has heart and is most likely using roids. No other way he can beat me. '.
