A fine choice. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 33 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fedor Mazepin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Akbar Dkenji!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Wagner Zegers and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mazepin clinches up with Dkenji and pushes him back against the cage.

Dkenji escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Dkenji rushes Mazepin and presses him up against the cage.
Mazepin has Dkenji pressed against the cage, preventing Dkenji from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Mazepin gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Mazepin is standing up over Dkenji. Dkenji looks to escape but Mazepin dives into side control.


Mazepin working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Mazepin throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Mazepin with the ground and pound but Dkenji regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Mazepin looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dkenji with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Mazepin connects with a nice short shot to Dkenji's temple.
Mazepin is nestled in close to Dkenji, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Mazepin prevents Dkenji from standing back up.
Dkenji is trying to control but can't.
Dkenji is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Mazepin scores with a couple of nice shots.

Mazepin is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Dkenji is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Mazepin has latched onto it... Big trouble! Mazepin pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Dkenji is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Mazepin!
