Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sam Hiro Iwaga Genochin (ranked 776 p4p, 1052 weight class) and Jack Hakansson (ranked 101 p4p, 138 weight class). Iwaga Genochin comes into the arena with Majinahanashi blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sam Hiro Iwaga Genochin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jack Hakansson! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Ben Watson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jab, jab by Iwaga Genochin - just one landing. Hakansson walks into a stiff left hand from Iwaga Genochin. Hakansson fails to land the takedown. Iwaga Genochin looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Hakansson lands with a right hand. Hakansson keeps the fight on the outside. Nice defenses there by Hakansson. Iwaga Genochin clinches up against the cage. Iwaga Genochin prevents the takedown attempt.
Iwaga Genochin lands a right hand. Iwaga Genochin is defending well against a takedown attempt. Sam Hiro Iwaga Genochin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Hakansson. Iwaga Genochin is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Iwaga Genochin misses with a short punch on the inside. Hakansson gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Iwaga Genochin is trying to control but can't.
Hakansson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Iwaga Genochin tries to get to full guard but Hakansson has control of the leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hakansson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Iwaga Genochin tries to roll over but Hakansson keeps him under control. Iwaga Genochin is staying active underneath Hakansson, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Iwaga Genochin gets back to full guard.

Iwaga Genochin is staying active underneath Hakansson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Iwaga Genochin tries to roll over but Hakansson keeps him under control. Iwaga Genochin regains full guard. Nicely done. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hakansson trying to control the position from guard on top but Iwaga Genochin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Iwaga Genochin controls Hakansson momentarily but Hakansson frees himself. Iwaga Genochin wants to sweep but no luck. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Iwaga Genochin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hakansson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hakansson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hakansson wants to pass the guard but Iwaga Genochin is keeping the position. Hakansson trying to control but Iwaga Genochin is working from the bottom. Iwaga Genochin has his foot on Hakansson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hakansson works his way back into a safe position though.

Hakansson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Iwaga Genochin is looking for a sweep. Hakansson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Hakansson slows the pace down in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Iwaga Genochin is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hakansson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hakansson's back! I really don't envy Hakansson right now.
Iwaga Genochin is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Hakansson won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Iwaga Genochin off his unconscious opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Sam Hiro Iwaga Genochin! A relieved looking Sam Hiro Iwaga Genochin thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
