PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Surkho Dratchev (ranked 2400 p4p, 3929 weight class) and Santiago Santos (ranked 252 p4p, 405 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Dratchev looks to clinch
and Santos counters with a straight right hand.

It looks like Surkho Dratchev has been cut.

Dratchev moves in looking to clinch but Santos pushes him off.

Santos bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Dratchev takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

The fight stays on the outside here - Dratchev looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Santos feints a counter leg kick.
Dratchev misses with a double jab.
Santos gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Dratchev.
Dratchev wants to clinch but Santos slips to the side
and Santos counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

The cut above Santiago Santos's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Dratchev scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Dratchev bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Santos's head.

Santiago Santos's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Dratchev is looking to clinch.
Dratchev tries to clinch there but Santos circles away.
Santos was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Sloppy strikes from Dratchev. Those never looked like landing.
Santos appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

Dratchev misses with a double jab.
Santos avoids the body shot from Dratchev.
Santos counters with a body kick.
Santos avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Dratchev throws a leg kick
and Santos counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dratchev buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

And that's the end of the fight!
Surkho Dratchev showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Dratchev has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
