McConnell kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Fun.: We Are Young ft. Janelle Monáe. Hanayama has chosen Hanayama vs Katsumi as his entrance music. Kaoru Hanayama has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

McConnell misses with a body shot
and Hanayama cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Hanayama moves in looking to clinch but McConnell pushes him off.

Hanayama tries to work over McConnell's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Kaoru Hanayama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A little feinted left hand from McConnell on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
