Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Haitian Ginger!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Chad Campbell and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Holton Jr checks a leg kick.
Holton Jr drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
It looks like DeShaun Holton Jr has been cut.
Ginger thumps Holton Jr with a low kick.
Holton Jr slips a jab from Ginger.
Holton Jr is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Haitian Ginger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ginger throws a half hearted mid kick.
Holton Jr swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Ginger lands a nice looking kick to the body. Holton Jr takes a step back to recover.

and Ginger takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

letting Holton Jr counter with a right hand.

Nice straight punches there by Ginger. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Ginger.

Ginger throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Holton Jr on the side of the head.
Ginger cracks Holton Jr with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
DeShaun Holton Jr's cut is getting worse.
Ginger lands a big uppercut and Holton Jr crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Holton Jr looks OK. Ginger waves Holton Jr back to his feet!
Holton Jr is rocked!
Ginger has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ginger finds Holton Jr's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Holton Jr flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Ginger lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Holton Jr will be OK.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Haitian Ginger!
