Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Malcolm Rivera (ranked 1373 p4p, 1133 weight class) and Solomon Pruitt (ranked 158 p4p, 133 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Rivera might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to BAD COMPANY. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Solomon Pruitt!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Pruitt looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Nice straight punches there by Pruitt. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Pruitt.
Solomon Pruitt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rivera checks a leg kick.
A low kick from Pruitt misses
and Rivera counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
It looks like Solomon Pruitt has been cut.
Pruitt fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
We've been told by Rivera's head coaches at Mary Gracies Jiu Jitsu that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Pruitt is looking to land body kicks.
Rivera looks to land a combination but Pruitt avoids it well.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Pruitt has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Rivera takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rivera takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Rivera slips a jab from Pruitt.
Rivera takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Pruitt swings for the body but Rivera moves out of range.

Pruitt fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Pruitt throws a hook to the side of Rivera's head but Rivera sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Rivera is looking to counter punch.
Rivera ducks under a wild hook from Pruitt.
Rivera throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Pruitt loads up on a big right hand but Rivera slips the punch.
Rivera buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Pruitt closes the distance looking to clinch
and Rivera counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Pruitt looks winded!
Rivera lands a right hook to the body.
Oooooh!!! Rivera has knocked Pruitt down with a huge combo! Rivera steps away and waves a wobbly Pruitt back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pruitt staying out of range there.
Rivera drops Pruitt with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Pruitt looks back up at him and smiles so Rivera waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Pruitt is rocked!

A telegraphed right hand from Pruitt misses the target.
A quick step to the side and Rivera tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pruitt is still on wobbly legs! Can Rivera finish him?
Rivera feints a jab and as Pruitt dips his head, Rivera unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Pruitt right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Pruitt falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Rivera smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Malcolm Rivera!
During a confident post fight interview, Malcolm Rivera thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
