PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Traumen (ranked 3283 p4p, 3972 weight class) and Dennis Moody (ranked 380 p4p, 424 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lucas Traumen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dennis Moody!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Lou da Vinci and Eddie Farnsworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moody looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and Traumen counters with a one-two to the body.
We've been told by Traumen's head coaches at Champion Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
A jab from Traumen does it's job there.

It looks like Dennis Moody has been cut.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Traumen, as that shot connected.

Moody instigates a clinch.
Traumen keeps control of Moody as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Traumen breaks the clinch.
Traumen throws a shot from downtown. Moody moves away and avoids it.
Traumen misses with a looping right.
Traumen throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Moody stumbling backwards into the cage! Moody bounces back off the cage towards Traumen, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Traumen lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Traumen celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Lucas Traumen!
Lucas Traumen decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
