Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Paulie Greene (ranked 1435 p4p, 914 weight class) and Lars Kay (ranked 134 p4p, 85 weight class). Greene comes to the cage accompanied by Im Shipping Up To Boston. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paulie Greene!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lars Kay!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Steve Erwin and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kay ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Kay drives through with a takedown into Greene's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Kay takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Kay stuns Greene with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Greene manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Kay keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Greene is looking to land body kicks.
Greene tries to land a leg kick but Kay saw it coming and moves away.

Greene throws an overhand right that lands on Kay's shoulder, as Kay tries to avoid the shot.

Kay now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Greene jabs Kay right on the nose. Kay blinks but takes it well.
Greene uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Kay has time to react.

Kay goes for a double leg but Greene avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Greene continues to drive forward.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kay paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

A little jabbing left from Kay on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Greene throws a sloppy body shot
and Kay counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It seemed like Kay was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Kay uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Greene.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Greene enables Kay to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Greene manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Kay rolls, trying to escape but Greene keeps control of the position.
I would not like to be Kay right now.

Kay keeps trying to improve his position.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Paulie Greene.
I think Greene has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
