Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryoto Takahashi (ranked 2 p4p, 189 weight class) and Siale Veainu (ranked 1 p4p, 29 weight class). Takahashi comes to the cage accompanied by SMOKING & THINKING. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 26 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ryoto Takahashi! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 34 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Siale Veainu! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Veainu just misses with a punch to the body.
A low kick from Takahashi is predictable there and Veainu counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
It looks like Ryoto Takahashi has been cut. Veainu misses with a hook
and Takahashi counters with a flying knee. Nice. Veainu ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Takahashi moves away. Veainu misses with a hook. Takahashi appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Veainu misses with a wild body shot. Takahashi was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Takahashi seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Takahashi cracks Veainu with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Veainu tries to close the distance and clinch but Takahashi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Veainu clinches. A short right hand to the side of the head by Takahashi.
That's one minute gone in the round. Veainu tries a body shot but Takahashi blocks it.
Takahashi lands a left hand that snaps the head of Veainu backwards. Takahashi lands a body punch. Veainu goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Veainu escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

A big left from Veainu misses. A lazy body kick from Takahashi and Veainu counters with a nice body shot. Takahashi tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Veainu manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Takahashi counters with a straight right hand. Nice defenses there by Takahashi. Veainu misses with a right hand and Takahashi connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Veainu jabs Takahashi to the body, keeping him at a distance. Veainu cracks Takahashi with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Veainu cracks a nice hook into Takahashi's ribs. and Takahashi counters with a series of strikes. Veainu will be more careful next time no doubt. Veainu misses with a right hand and Takahashi counters by clinching up. Takahashi works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

A looping hook to the body misses from Takahashi. Veainu does a little dance to reset his feet. Veainu ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Takahashi moves away. Veainu throws a sloppy body shot
and Veainu takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Veainu throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Takahashi counters by clinching up. Takahashi misses with a hook to the ribs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Veainu is trying to force a seperation but Takahashi has the dominant position. Takahashi swings wildly with an uppercut but Veainu uses good head movement to avoid it. Veainu scores with an uppercut up the middle. Takahashi misses with a body punch.
Takahashi lands a hook that snaps the head of Veainu backwards. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A right handed body shot lands from Veainu.

That was a close round but I would say that Ryoto Takahashi will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Ryoto Takahashi's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Veainu misses with a straight left. Takahashi is looking to counter with head kicks. Veainu misses with a hook. Veainu misses the jab. Veainu looks to score with a jab to the body but Takahashi is just out of range. And Takahashi counters with a quick kick to the body but Veainu blocks it. Siale Veainu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Veainu throws a lazy right hand but Takahashi sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Takahashi thinks about countering with a body kick. Veainu misses the shot to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A leg kick checked by Veainu. Takahashi ducks under a wild hook from Veainu. Siale Veainu seems to be getting the better of the standup. Veainu loads up on a big right hand but Takahashi slips the punch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takahashi cracks Veainu with a good jab. Veainu throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Takahashi tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Veainu manages to circle out of the way. Takahashi looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Takahashi moves into the clinch. Takahashi tries to pull guard but Veainu holds him up against the cage and eventually Takahashi drops back down to his feet.
Veainu has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Takahashi seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Veainu can turn it around. Takahashi doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Veainu tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Takahashi was well out of range. Poor timing from Veainu. Takahashi was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Takahashi takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Veainu lands with a shot to the body. Veainu fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Veainu is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Takahashi. Veainu looks to throw the jab but Takahashi is out of range. A counter left hand to the body from Takahashi misses its target. Veainu throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A shot to the body from Veainu misses and Takahashi holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Veainu is trying to break the clinch but Takahashi has him pressed against the cage. Takahashi tries to work over Veainu's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Veainu. Veainu works on Takahashi's body with a couple of short punches. Takahashi working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Veainu. Takahashi has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Veainu uses from the top position. Veainu's corner is telling him to maintain position. Siale Veainu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Ryoto Takahashi's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Takahashi uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Veainu.

and Takahashi counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Veainu takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Both fighters circling a little - Takahashi finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Veainu chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Takahashi can pounce on him.

and Takahashi counters with a crisp one two that drops Veainu! Takahashi thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Veainu to his feet! Veainu is in big trouble!
Veainu is rocked! Takahashi avoids the body shot from Veainu.
Veainu is still on wobbly legs! Can Takahashi finish him? Veainu throws a poor cross that misses
and Takahashi counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Veainu has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:39 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Ryoto Takahashi! Ryoto Takahashi retains his lightweight title! Ryoto Takahashi tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
