The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoshino fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Barella has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Nice sprawl there from Hoshino as Barella shoots in.
Hoshino jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Barella just misses with a punch to the body.
Hoshino moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Barella paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Barella has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hoshino.

Barella is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hoshino defends well.

That was a close round but I would say that Yuuji Hoshino will probably get the nod.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
