Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Yuuji Hoshino (ranked 406 p4p, 4091 weight class) and Sonny Barella (ranked 30 p4p, 219 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Yuuji Hoshino! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sonny Barella! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Paul Tew and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hoshino fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Barella has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Nice sprawl there from Hoshino as Barella shoots in. Hoshino jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit. Barella just misses with a punch to the body.
Hoshino moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Nice body kick there by Hoshino. Barella misses with a two punch combination.
Barella scores with a nice right hand.
Barella scores with a punch to the head. Barella lands an overhand right. Barella misses with a hook
and Hoshino counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Barella throws a hook but Hoshino blocks it. Barella throws a wild combination but nothing lands. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Barella takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Hoshino slips a straight right by Barella. Hoshino is looking to counter punch. Hoshino keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Barella throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Hoshino counters with a body kick that stops Barella in his tracks momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barella sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Barella tries to close the distance and clinch but Hoshino swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Hoshino throwing a counter right hand but Barella manages to avoid it. Hoshino swings for the body but Barella moves out of range.

Barella shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hoshino as he avoids it easily. Yuuji Hoshino has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sonny Barella. Barella throws a big shot that misses. Hoshino gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Barella. Barella fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Yuuji Hoshino is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Hoshino explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Hoshino thows a left - swing and a miss! Barella is looking to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A solid body kick from Hoshino. Barella misses with a hook. Hoshino ducked under it nicely. Barella moves out of range of the body kick from Hoshino.
Hoshino is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight. Barella throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Barella displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hoshino throws out the jab. Barella tries to counter with a clinch but Hoshino shakes him off and moves away. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The fighters circling - Barella throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Barella fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hoshino looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Hoshino swats away the attempt to clinch by Barella. Hoshino went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Barella lands with a shot to the body. Hoshino misses with an attempted mid kick.
Barella shoots and misses and Hoshino counters with a body kick. Hoshino misses with the combination.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hoshino throws a hook to the side of Barella's head but Barella sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Barella tries to close the distance and clinch but Hoshino swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Sonny Barella seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hoshino throws a hook but Barella avoids it easily. Barella looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Barella paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Barella has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hoshino. Hoshino drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Hoshino dodges the punch combination from Barella.
Hoshino throws a big counter combination but Barella scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Barella waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Hoshino. Barella takes a jab right on the kisser.
Barella throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hoshino was covering up waiting for the punch and Barella finishes the takedown easily into guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Barella wants to control from the top but Hoshino keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hoshino managing to control the position. Barella stopping the sweep attempt from Hoshino. Barella trying to control but Hoshino is working from the bottom. Barella drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hoshino dives on top into guard. Barella being controlled here, momentarily. Our spies down at at IMMA Gym of Elite ASS inform us that Barella has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Barella is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hoshino defends well. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Yuuji Hoshino will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Hoshino uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Barella. Barella tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hoshino swats him away and circles back towards the center. Barella throws a jab when Hoshino was well out of range. Hoshino takes one on the button. Yuuji Hoshino is winning the standup battle so far. Barella tries to clinch but Hoshino is having none of it. Barella throws a good cross that connects.
Barella fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Barella swings for the body but Hoshino moves out of range.
Hoshino lets loose with a powerful body kick. Barella will feel that in the morning. Hoshino throws a nice inside leg kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hoshino with the inside leg kick. Hoshino avoids the body shot from Barella.
And Hoshino counters with a quick kick to the body but Barella blocks it. No luck with that takedown attempt from Barella. Barella has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Hoshino. Hoshino keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

That's going to take a lot out of Sonny Barella. Barella is breathing heavily. Hoshino uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Barella.
Barella tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hoshino was well out of range. Poor timing from Barella. Hoshino throws a leg kick which misses Barella's front leg but catches the back leg as Barella tries to avoid it. Hoshino fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. As Barella looks to move away, Hoshino throws a big counter combo but Barella just gets out of the way. Barella throws a hook to the side of Hoshino's head but Hoshino sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Hoshino is looking to counter punch. Barella shoots for a double leg takedown but Hoshino sprawls well. He's pushed Barella's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hoshino swings for the body but Barella moves out of range.
Barella tries to clinch and Hoshino counters with a thumping low kick. Hoshino takes a swing at Barella's ribcage but misses. Barella looks like he wants to counter punch here. A nice leg kick from Hoshino, right into the meat of the thigh.
Hoshino connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Barella's hands. A solid leg kick lands there for Hoshino.
Hoshino buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Hoshino fakes the leg kick and cracks Barella in the body. Hoshino swats away the attempt to clinch by Barella. Barella dips to his left and cracks Hoshino with an uppercut!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barella has his takedown stuffed and Hoshino counters with an inside leg kick. Hoshino misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Barella.
Hoshino has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Barella is defended easily by Hoshino. A decent looking cross lands there for Hoshino. Barella's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Barella tries for a takedown but Hoshino sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Barella throws a series of punches but Hoshino avoids them all with ease. Barella gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Hoshino. Barella misses with an uppercut
and Hoshino counters with a nice low kick that buckles Barella's knee momentarily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Barella walks into a left hand. Hoshino throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Barella throws a shot from downtown. Hoshino moves away and avoids it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hoshino looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Hoshino scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Barella tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hoshino swivels and escapes. Barella looks to land a left hand but Hoshino moved out of range nicely. Barella feints a jab promting Hoshino to slip. Barella then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Hoshino slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Barella throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Hoshino connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Barella is rocked! Hoshino scores with a leg kick.
Barella is still on wobbly legs! Can Hoshino finish him? A low kick lands for Hoshino.
Hoshino lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Hoshino scores with a leg kick.
Barella misses with a takedown and Hoshino counters with a crisp right that sends Barella to the canvas! Hoshino follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
