Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lars Kay (ranked 1380 p4p, 207 weight class) and Lewis Pendragon (ranked 123 p4p, 19 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lars Kay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lewis Pendragon!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Skip Squint and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pendragon throws a hook but Kay avoids it easily.
Kay misses the shot to the body.
Kay throws a looping overhand right but Pendragon ducks down to avoid it.
Kay uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Pendragon.
Kay misses with a straight left.
Pendragon scores with a jab to the head.
Pendragon lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

It looks like Lars Kay has been cut.
Kay throws a big shot that misses.

Pendragon clinches.
Kay lands a nice uppercut.
Pendragon lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Kay backwards.
Kay misses with the head strike.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kay wants to break the clinch but can't.

Kay has picked Pendragon up - he's going for a ride! Kay dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Pendragon wants to get back to his feet.
Kay is looking to stall here but Pendragon recovers full guard.

and Kay cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

An inside leg kick lands from Pendragon.
Pendragon scores with a hook to the body. Kay takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Pendragon throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Pendragon misses with the combination.
Kay was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Pendragon fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Pendragon pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Pendragon uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kay.
Kay throws the left hand but Pendragon avoids the punch easily.

Kay manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Pendragon on his heels. He'll look to pass Pendragon's guard now, I'm sure.

Kay lands a couple of elbows.
Kay lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Kay working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Pendragon's head.
Kay postures up in Pendragon's guard and throws a big left but Pendragon blocks it.
Kay throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
We've been hearing that Kay has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pendragon is on top in guard.


Kay is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pendragon defends well.
Pendragon seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Kay has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Pendragon is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Kay.
Kay wants to control but Pendragon postures up.
Kay is not content to let Pendragon control the position.
Kay tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Pendragon wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Kay tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Pendragon presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Kay is looking to improve his position but Pendragon isn't that keen on the idea.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Kay gets the takedown into side control.
A control attempt from Pendragon but he's now mounted!
Pendragon sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Kay not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Kay thows a huge punch but Pendragon dodges it nicely.

Pendragon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lars Kay overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Pendragon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Pendragon keeps trying to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kay wants to control but Pendragon is keeping him busy.
Kay looks to land a strike but Pendragon avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Kay lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Pendragon has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Kay postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Pendragon utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Kay is working Pendragon over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Kay stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pendragon swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kay accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Kay scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Kay keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Pendragon's head.

Kay is looking to work some ground and pound but Pendragon has wrist control.
Kay lands a couple of elbows.

Kay in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Kay distracts Pendragon with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Kay throws an elbow that misses. Pendragon uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kay's guard. Nice move by Pendragon!

Pendragon wants to get up but he can't break Kay's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Kay is looking for a triangle but Pendragon pushes his legs off easily.

Pendragon content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Kay has locked up a guillotine! Kay's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Pendragon is holding on here and Kay must be using up a lot of energy. Pendragon has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Kay gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Lars Kay!
During a confident post fight interview, Lars Kay thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
