Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Piercer (ranked 2333 p4p, 3096 weight class) and Better Dead (ranked 288 p4p, 361 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Piercer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Better Dead!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Piercer feints a jab promting Dead to slip. Piercer then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Dead slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Piercer looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Dead takes a swing at Piercer's ribcage but misses.
Piercer tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dead was well out of range. Poor timing from Piercer.
Dead misses with a left hand
and Piercer counters with a nice body shot.
Piercer slips under a jab from Dead.
Piercer slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Dead looks to land a left hand but Piercer moved out of range nicely.
Dead throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Piercer.
Dead cracks Piercer with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Dead ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Dead misses with an uppercut. Piercer saw that one coming.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dead rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Dead takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Piercer fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Dead has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Better Dead seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Piercer lands a nice hook to Dead's body. Dead takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Dead throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Piercer sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Piercer scores with a spinning back kick!
Dead tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Piercer was well out of range. Poor timing from Dead.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Piercer - that will leave a mark!
Dead fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

and Piercer makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Dead misses with an uppercut. Piercer saw that one coming.
Piercer connects with a solid leg kick.
Dead throws a head kick but Piercer moves out of range.

Dead drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Dead throws a hook but Piercer blocks it.
It looked like Piercer wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Piercer throws a quick counter kick to the body but Dead avoids it.
Dead walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Dead ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Piercer moves away.
Piercer displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dead throws out the jab.
Dead throws a hook but Piercer blocks it.
Dead on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Piercer lands a glancing blow to the side of Dead's head.

It looks like Better Dead has been cut.
Dead chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Piercer can pounce on him.

Piercer throws a combination. Dead tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Piercer uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Dead.

That kick from Piercer tenderised Dead's leg. Dead is trying to keep his angry face on.

Dead throws out a loose jab but Piercer uses good head movement to avoid it.
Piercer smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

and Piercer counters with a nice uppercut.
Dead lands the left hand.
Dead misses with a lunging right hand
and Piercer counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Dead misses with an uppercut. Piercer saw that one coming.
Dead misses with a hook. Piercer ducked under it nicely.
Dead is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

and Piercer counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Piercer moves out of range as Dead strikes.
Dead's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Piercer scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Dead throws a right hand that misses
and Piercer counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
A slapping leg kick lands for Piercer.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Piercer ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Dead looks winded!
Piercer connects with a single shot there.
Piercer throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Piercer buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Dead throws a shot from downtown. Piercer moves away and avoids it.

Piercer slips a jab from Dead.
Piercer bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Dead takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
A left lands for Piercer.
Piercer lands the left hand.
Piercer connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Dead throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Piercer chopping away at his opponent's legs.
A chopping leg kick lands by Piercer.
Piercer defending well as Dead loads up on a big left hand.
Piercer lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Dead at a distance.
Dead tries to move into range but Piercer moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Piercer ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Dead drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Dead is rocked!
Piercer cracks Dead with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Dead is still on wobbly legs! Can Piercer finish him?
A swing and a miss from Dead.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

John Piercer dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Better Dead's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Piercer lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dead circles away quickly and effectively.
Dead seems to have recovered his senses.
Dead on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Dead uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Piercer.
Piercer cracks Dead with a good jab.
Dead misses with a hook. Piercer ducked under it nicely.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Dead in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Piercer drops Dead with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Dead looks back up at him and smiles so Piercer waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Piercer thuds his right hand into Dead's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Piercer counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Dead scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Dead scores with a jab. Piercer acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Piercer lands a jab to Dead's midsection.
Piercer is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dead can do to turn this around?
A big right from Dead misses.
Dead swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Dead shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Piercer eats them both and turns towards Dead to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Dead throws a jab but it's blocked by Piercer.
Piercer lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Dead at a distance.
Piercer paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

and Piercer counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Dead cracks Piercer with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Dead throws a hook to the side of Piercer's head but Piercer sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Dead throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Piercer counters with a nice leg kick.
Dead misses with a few strikes there.
Dead is breathing heavily.
Dead takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Piercer lands a front kick.
A nice inside leg kick there by Piercer. That's going to slow Dead down.
Piercer connects with a body shot that sends Dead's belly button to the back.
A jab from Piercer finds it's way through Dead's defenses.
Piercer lands a nice looking body shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Both fighters circling a little - Piercer finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Piercer avoids the body shot from Dead.
A quick step to the side and Piercer tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Dead has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
Piercer bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Dead's head backwards.

Piercer paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Today's fight clock is brought to you by... OOOH that's a huge shot by Piercer! Dead is in big trouble here - the ref steps in to save him and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:09 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Piercer!
A relieved looking John Piercer thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
