Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lindsay Apollo (ranked 158 p4p, 222 weight class) and Jamie Hull (ranked 9 p4p, 18 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 26 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lindsay Apollo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jamie Hull! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Richard Clark and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hull has Apollo up against the cage in a clinch.
Apollo has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Apollo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Apollo misses with a wild body shot. Apollo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hull moves in looking to clinch but Apollo pushes him off. Apollo misses the jab. Apollo misses with a straight left. Hull doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Hull is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Apollo misses with a looping right. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Apollo is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hull. Hull doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Hull is looking to clinch. Apollo was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Hull clinches up against the cage. Apollo misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Hull tries to pull guard but Apollo won't allow it.

Lindsay Apollo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jamie Hull. Apollo breaks from the clinch.
Apollo throws a lazy body kick and Hull counters with a stiff right hand. Hull slips under a jab from Apollo. Hull looks to clinch and Apollo counters with a straight right hand. Hull is looking to clinch. Hull walks into a straight right hand from Apollo. Hull avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Apollo throws an overhand right that lands on Hull's shoulder, as Hull tries to avoid the shot. Apollo fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Hull. A big right from Apollo misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hull has Apollo up against the cage in a clinch.
Apollo lands a hook that snaps the head of Hull backwards. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hull tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Hull jumps guard and drags Apollo to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Hull has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Apollo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Hull had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Apollo defends it easily. Hull keeping full guard, as Apollo tries to pass. Hull working a defensive guard here.
Apollo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Apollo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hull controls Apollo momentarily but Apollo frees himself. Hull is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Hull pulls Apollo in close to prevent any damage. Hull is trying to keep Apollo in close.
Hull has his foot on Apollo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Apollo works his way back into a safe position though. Apollo tries to free his leg and advance position but Hull is retaining full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Hull has control of Apollo's left arm, preventing Apollo from doing any damage. Hull trying to keep a closed guard but Apollo is proving a slippery customer.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Apollo keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Apollo scores with a crisp jab that stopped Hull in his tracks. Hull is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Apollo keeps the fight on the outside. Apollo connects with a leg kick. Apollo lands a leg kick that knocks Hull off balance momentarily. Hull closes the distance looking to clinch and Apollo makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Lindsay Apollo dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Good leg kick by Apollo. Lindsay Apollo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hull avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Hull clinches with his opponent.
Apollo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Hull drives through and clinches with Apollo against the cage.

Apollo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Apollo with a jab. Hull tries to close the distance and clinch up but Apollo swats him away and circles back towards the center. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Apollo throws a push kick but Hull slaps the foot to one side. Apollo throws a hook but Hull blocks it. Apollo connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Apollo, as that shot connected.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hull tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Apollo paws at him with a jab and circles away. Apollo swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Apollo waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Hull. Hull throws out a counter right but Apollo avoids it with no problem. Hull stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Apollo. Lindsay Apollo is winning the standup battle so far. Hull moves out of range as Apollo strikes. A nice side step and Hull releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Hull has closed the distance and engaged Apollo in a clinch.
A nice left hand lands by Apollo.
Hull is trying to pull guard but Apollo has him pressed against the cage. Apollo lands a left hand that snaps the head of Hull backwards. Apollo digs a right hand into Hull's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Hull's gas tank. Apollo tries to work over Hull's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Hull manages to pull guard.

Hull throws out a counter right but Apollo avoids it with no problem. Hull rushes Apollo and presses him up against the cage. Hull tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Apollo misses the jab. Hull tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Apollo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Apollo fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Apollo changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Apollo scores with a decent looking hook. Hull tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Apollo lands with a kick to the ribs.
A nice inside leg kick there by Apollo. That's going to slow Hull down. Apollo is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hull can do to turn this around? This has been an exciting period of action! Apollo tests Hull's chin there with a solid looking shot. Apollo tries to keep at a distance but Hull has taken the fight into the clinch. Hull is trying to pull guard but Apollo has him pressed against the cage. Apollo lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Hull or not. Apollo lands with a light punch inside. Apollo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Lindsay Apollo dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards. Apollo dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Hull. That did some damage! A slow jab from Apollo misses its intended target. Hull let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Apollo throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Hull appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Apollo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Hull tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Apollo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Apollo lunges at Hull with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Hull's hand. Hull walks into a stiff left hand from Apollo. Apollo cracks Hull with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hull closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Apollo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Hull moves into the clinch. Apollo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Apollo throws a solid leg kick but Hull takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Apollo. Some bone on bone action there as Hull checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Apollo keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Apollo connects with a body shot that sends Hull's belly button to the back. Apollo is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hull. Apollo connects with an inside leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hull is looking to clinch. Apollo scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Apollo connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Apollo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hull moves away. Hull sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Apollo throws a shot from downtown. Hull moves away and avoids it. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Apollo throws a push kick but Hull slaps the foot to one side. Hull uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Apollo.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Apollo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Hull controlling the position. Apollo slips nicely into half guard. Hull gets full guard. Hull has control of Apollo's left arm, preventing Apollo from doing any damage. Hull looking for a guillotine here but Apollo defends easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Apollo seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Hull working a defensive guard here.
Apollo content to stall in guard here. Apollo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hull is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Apollo defends well. Jamie Hull has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Apollo is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
And that's the end of the fight! Lindsay Apollo showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Apollo, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
