Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Diaz (ranked 443 p4p, 496 weight class) and Elvis Presley (ranked 53 p4p, 58 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 16 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Elvis Presley!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Presley tries to close the distance and clinch but Diaz swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Diaz keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Nice defenses there by Diaz.
Diaz avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Elvis Presley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Diaz shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Diaz was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Diaz tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Diaz is looking to take a break and control but Presley is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Diaz swings around for an armbar but Presley sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Diaz's guard.

Diaz throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Presley escapes and throws Diaz's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Diaz is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Presley is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Diaz bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Diaz postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Presley is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Diaz, into his guard.


Diaz has his foot on Presley's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Presley works his way back into a safe position though.

Diaz wants to improve his position but instead Presley has moved into half guard.

Presley blocks the strikes from Diaz.
Diaz moves into full guard.

Diaz isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Presley stacks Diaz on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Presley!

A close round but Elvis Presley will probably get the nod.

Diaz uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Presley.
Diaz appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Presley is pushing Diaz up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Presley throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Diaz ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Diaz no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Diaz rolls, trying to escape but Presley keeps control of the position.

You can see the frustration on Diaz's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
What can Diaz do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Presley is trying to stick to Diaz's back but Diaz is turning into Presley. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Presley's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Diaz.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Presley is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Presley slowing the pace effectively.
Presley swings wildly with an uppercut but Diaz uses good head movement to avoid it.
Presley lands a shoulder strike.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Presley obliges.
Diaz tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

A nice right hand lands inside from Presley.

Diaz tightens his grip and picks Presley up, before dumping him to the ground. Presley manages to land in guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Diaz is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Well Presley has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
