Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Harry Moura! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Uwe Eggert! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Eggert circles away from the clinch attempt.
Eggert's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Eggert duly obliges.
It looks like Harry Moura has been cut. Moura blocks a jab. Eggert throws a lazy right hand but Moura sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Moura connects with a looping right hand.
Eggert moves away from the strike by Moura. A shot to the liver by Moura. Beautiful body shot. Eggert scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Moura circles away from the clinch attempt.
Moura throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Eggert sees it coming and avoids it easily. Eggert throws a lazy uppercut
and Moura counters with a low kick, right behind Eggert 's knee. Eggert tries to clinch up enabling Moura to counter with a crisp jab. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A shot to the liver by Moura. Beautiful body shot. A low kick from Eggert is predictable there and Moura counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Moura lands a head kick. Eggert smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Eggert throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Moura throws a leg kick which misses Eggert's front leg but catches the back leg as Eggert tries to avoid it. Moura has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Eggert throws a low kick but it's checked well by Moura.
That's one minute gone in the round. Moura ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Eggert swings widly with a right hand
and Moura counters with a straight right hand.
Eggert is rocked! Moura moves into the clinch. Eggert breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Moura walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Eggert drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Moura swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Eggert's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Harry Moura! In his post fight interview, Harry Moura started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
