Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lathem McGuire (ranked 395 p4p, 306 weight class) and Genkei Takahashi (ranked 44 p4p, 32 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lathem McGuire!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 1, fighting out of London, Genkei Takahashi!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Richard Clark and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGuire keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
McGuire has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Rivers Edge Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Takahashi on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Takahashi moves out of range of the body kick from McGuire.
Takahashi finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Takahashi gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and McGuire counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

McGuire walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
McGuire stuns Takahashi with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Takahashi has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
McGuire tries to move into range but Takahashi moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
McGuire fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A little jabbing left from Takahashi on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Takahashi will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

McGuire throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Takahashi feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Takahashi goes for a double leg but McGuire avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as McGuire continues to drive forward.

and McGuire counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Takahashi looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McGuire is fending him off so far but Takahashi persists. Nope, McGuire circles away and we're back to standing.
It looked like McGuire wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Takahashi dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Takahashi drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks McGuire right on the button. McGuire goes down! Takahashi follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Takahashi gets the win via TKO!

Genkei Takahashi bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
