Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arild Ringnes (ranked 1699 p4p, 536 weight class) and Galileo Galilei (ranked 89 p4p, 30 weight class). Galileo Galilei will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 30 - 20 - 0, fighting out of New York, Arild Ringnes ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Galileo Galilei! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ringnes clinches with his opponent.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Galilei. Ringnes throws a punch but it's blocked by Galilei. Galilei wants to get back to striking at distance but Ringnes won't allow it.
Galilei escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ringnes moves to clinch but Galilei breaks away and Galilei makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Ringnes really felt that one! Ringnes has Galilei up against the cage in a clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Galilei can't find room to land a body shot as Ringnes controls the action.

Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Galilei. Galilei misses with a short punch on the inside. Ringnes tries to land knees in the clinch but Galilei avoids the damage to the body. Galilei lands with a short shot to the head. Ringnes throws a punch but it's blocked by Galilei. Galilei is looking to control Ringnes 's arms but Ringnes gets an underhook and turns him. Now Galilei has his back to the cage. Ringnes swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Galilei's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Nice defenses there by Galilei. Galilei is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Ringnes with a body shot. Galilei throws a leg kick which misses Ringnes 's front leg but catches the back leg as Ringnes tries to avoid it. Ringnes is looking to clinch but Galilei is avoiding it.
Ringnes wants to clinch but Galilei slips to the side and Galilei connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Galilei swings for the body but Ringnes moves out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Galilei throws a half hearted mid kick. A slow jab from Galilei misses its intended target. Ringnes throws a jab but it's blocked by Galilei. Galilei tries a head kick but it misses.
Ringnes rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Galilei moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Galilei fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ringnes tries to clinch but fails miserably and Galilei counters with a nice body shot. Galilei lands with a good body shot. Galilei takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. A cross from Galilei lands. Ringnes 's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Galilei connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Ringnes scrambles back to his feet. Ringnes closes the distance but Galilei moves to the side enabling Galilei to counter with a crisp jab. Galilei stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Ringnes .
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ringnes uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Galilei. Ringnes looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Ringnes rushes Galilei and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Galilei manages to break the clinch.
Galilei throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Ringnes bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Ringnes punishes Galilei's body with a nice straight punch. Ringnes throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice straight punches there by Galilei. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Galilei. Galilei thumps Ringnes with a low kick. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A telegraphed right hand from Ringnes misses the target. Ringnes throws a lazy right hand but Galilei sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Ringnes uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Galilei.
Galilei has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Ringnes connects with a looping right hand.
Galilei throws a leg kick and Ringnes counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Galilei is lucky that one didn't land flush. A solid leg kick lands there for Galilei.

Ringnes tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Galilei keeps the fight on the outside. Galilei doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Ringnes wants to clinch. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Galileo Galilei dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ringnes tries to close the distance and clinch up but Galilei swats him away and circles back towards the center. Ringnes closes the distance but Galilei moves to the side and Galilei counters with a lovely straight right hand! Galilei throws a body shot but no joy. Ringnes slips a jab from Galilei. Ringnes throws a head kick that misses. Ringnes wants to clinch up but Galilei keeps it at a distance. Arild Ringnes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Galilei fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Galilei slips a straight right by Ringnes . Galilei has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Ringnes cracks Galilei with a good jab. Galilei throws a leg kick which misses Ringnes 's front leg but catches the back leg as Ringnes tries to avoid it. Galilei takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Galilei throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Ringnes . Ringnes closes the distance looking to clinch and Galilei counters with a low kick, right behind Ringnes 's knee. Galilei throws a right and a left that Ringnes avoids nicely. An attempted straight right counter from Ringnes misses the target. Ringnes blocks a jab. A quick step to the side and Ringnes tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Galilei is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Ringnes blocks a jab. It connects and Ringnes has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Galilei lands with a good body shot.

enabling Ringnes to counter with a crisp jab. The fight stays on the outside here - Ringnes looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Ringnes tries to clinch there but Galilei circles away.
Galilei is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Galilei uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Ringnes has time to react. Ringnes keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Galilei. Ringnes throws a head kick but Galilei moves out of range.

A nice side step and Galilei releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Galilei in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. Galilei misses with a straight right.

Ringnes tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Galilei manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Galilei looks to land a combination but Ringnes avoids it well. Ringnes takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Galilei keeps the fight on the outside. It seemed like Galilei was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Galilei avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Galilei throws out a counter right but Ringnes avoids it with no problem. Galilei lands a nice hook to Ringnes 's body. Ringnes takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Ringnes closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Galilei feints and then cracks Ringnes 's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Ringnes down. Ringnes displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Galilei throws out the jab. Ringnes slips a jab from Galilei. Galilei throws a sloppy body shot
and Ringnes counters with a left and a right that stings Galilei. Some bone on bone action there as Galilei checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Ringnes catches Galilei with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Ringnes on the wrong end of a nice jab. Ringnes wants to clinch.

That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Ringnes scores with a decent looking hook. Ringnes is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Galilei misses the jab. Galilei lands with a shot to the body. Ringnes lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Galilei looks to score with a jab to the body but Ringnes is just out of range. Arild Ringnes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Galilei is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ringnes . Ringnes sends Galilei crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Ringnes is motioning to the referee to let Galilei up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet! Galileo Galilei is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Arild Ringnes . Well Galilei has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality.
