Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alika Hakekia (ranked 57 p4p, 220 weight class) and Rimtas Kentas (ranked 9 p4p, 35 weight class). Hakekia comes to the cage accompanied by SUMO. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 36 - 20 - 3, fighting out of Montreal, Alika Hakekia! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 19 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rimtas Kentas! The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Winston Howard and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hakekia uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kentas. As Kentas backs away, Hakekia returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Hakekia throws out a loose jab but Kentas uses good head movement to avoid it. Hakekia misses with a straight left. Kentas uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hakekia. Hakekia misses with a kick to the body letting Kentas counter with a right hand. Hakekia looks for the body kick but Kentas saw that one coming. Kentas gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Kentas has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Hakekia thows a leg kick but Kentas checks it and Kentas counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Hakekia feints and then cracks Kentas's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kentas down. Hakekia moves away from the strike by Kentas. Hakekia throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hakekia feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kentass jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Hakekia looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Kentas misses with a straight left. Hakekia defending well as Kentas loads up on a big left hand. Kentas closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hakekia did well to prevent Kentas getting side control. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kentas in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Hakekia tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Kentas!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Rimtas Kentas! Rimtas Kentas is the new lightweight champion! During a confident post fight interview, Rimtas Kentas thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
